Feeling much better about things. Think we'll all be happy with the forums in a month's time.

A couple of things that would improve the user experience:

1. Show the date and time of the last post and the poster in each forum/sub-forum/post. I can't tell when the last posts were made in any forum or post without going in.

2. Bring back the "New content / items I participated in" feature. The current "My Discussions " shows every topic I started, most of which are old threads with no new updates, and I can't even sort them by date.

 

There are bound to be growing pains with any technology transition. Retaining user functionality should be paramount even if the underlying platform has changed. Been through many tech migrations at work where user experience and previous functionality was ignored (not saying that's the case here) in favor of a newer, faster platform, and they didn't go well. I appreciate everything Richard and company have done to get things improved since the re-launch. I believe that keeping as much of the functionality / features of the old site as possible with the new platform will keep most people happy.

Agreed! Please go back to bold font for unread threads and regular font for read threads. The blue boxes, especially on the BST, take up way too much space and are very distracting!

Too funny I hadn’t been a member of any golf forum since the old GEA. Decide to join based on some information a ping rep gave me on cost and timing that was being debated. Poof this happens, hope everything works out for the best. Always have enjoyed the early pictures as a guest..

But don't worry...it's only the 2nd worse site change this year. A very distant 2nd,. The Tumblr fiasco has cost them far more.

I’d love to say thanks to the guys and gals working on this again. I just uploaded 2 pics of the USga certificates concerning groove testing , to help some guys out in a conforming grooves thread , and I loaded both in under 10 seconds.

I’m actually kinda digging the white on grey aesthetic. Definitely needs some tweaks, but very modern and professional. Functionality still needs work - get rid of badges, lols/agrees; get My Content searches back; get avatars and user info column sorted out.

I bet Rivals has one of the most active forums in the US. Just copy their layout. It’s infitiely better than this mess. Reddit is essentially the largest forum in the world. Why not copy a proven winner?

 

Is there no ‘Post comment’ button at the top of each page? I shouldn’t have to scroll to the bottom to post something.

 

Double spacing while typing comments? Gross

 

It would be nice to have page number links on the face of the topic view. Much easier to hop around to latter pages.

 

iPhone XS on safari has 3 lines just for user name, number of posts and time. All that needs to be on the left to minimize the footprint of each reply. Get rid of the Likes, LOLs, etc. or atleast shrink the font to get them on one line instead of two.

 

Font, in general, is too large for mobile. The entire mobile view needs shrunk.

The font doesn’t seem too large on mobile to me. Isn’t larger than the old forum, is it? But the posts do seem to use more vertical space. So I dunno.

 

Definitely too much space being used in the edit box when typing on mobile.

I wonder if it's a difference between iPhone and Android? I'm using a Galaxy myself and the font seems fine to me.

Just the beginning. Next week this time we should see a lot of significant changes. Every day we will see them coming,
