I mistakingly tried a Flash SZ with an AD ZI 6x the other day and I would do dirty things to be able to own it. Dead nuts straight, and long!

EFSZ - Long and IMHO sounds 'better' than the standard Flash. Stock offered shafts are 'better' than in recent years, however they bloody well should be for the $$$ they're charging now. I find that all the new 'low' spinning driver heads this year provide similar results on the 'nutted' drives, rules of golf have made sure of that. I think you need to test every OEM's premium offering with a variety of shafts on a demo day with outside ball flight. There are subtle differences, but they are measurable with a trackman. Usually the bigger OEM's have their local reps bring that equipment to green grass accounts away from the BIG BOX stores. The tolerances in the new equipment make the misses the bigger part of the fit process. Basically you have to love the look, sound/feel with the shaft offerings (hopefully a stock offered one) Trust your fitter if they give you advice and better numbers with something that you hadn't considered. We're not tour pros so, as I said before IMHO you're fitting for your misses. If you hit 2 or 3 out of 10 drives 5 or 10 yards further than another driver, but your misses are 'worse' than something that gives you similar results, you're better hitting 1 more club from the fairway than pitching out sideways or reloading off the tee.

I recently picked up a new EF SZ and played it once so far. I have to say that I didn't notice any "weird", "loud" or whatever sound coming from it when hit. The ball just seem to take right off from the face compared to the Ping G400 SFT one I have but when compared to the Rogue Draw I have it seem to launch a little higher and perhaps a little longer. Distance comparison was hard to tell between the EF SZ and Rogue since I wasn't always in the fairway but the flight was a little higher with the EF driver. Both are 9 degrees but different shafts! Anyway my initial thoughts on the EF SZ were very positive and I cannot wait to get out and hit it some more! FYI, I decided to try it because I got a very, very good deal on it and I was told I have a negative AoA and create alot of driver spin!

I'm not high speed guy but I'm in love with this club because it's very neutral.....shaping is very simple but very neutral......came from M3 which I couldn't turnover to save my life!

> Agree with Swoosh, I find the EFSZ to be very neutral and very easy to hit straight. Also not a high swing speed guy but my distance is longer this year and the only miss I have seen is the pull hook which has nothing to do with the arrow. When I swing good, I get good results, if not great.

agreed with these two -- it likes to go straight, but is very welcoming to shaping either way. since getting mine i get a bit more pissed on holes i can't hit it -- begs to be beaten.

I second on the Tensai. I got the Epic Flash (sorry, I'm a low launch player and needed the Flash to help get it up, not the Sub-Zero) with a little trepidation because I've become accustomed to sub-460 heads, convinced I hit them so much better, but I played around with the setup, even exchanging the Tensai 65 Blue AV into my Callaway Optiforce 440 and putting the Speeder 565 into my Epic Flash. This did wonders for both.... my Optiforce 440 was sending straight rockets out there and my Epic Flash was doing better than originally with the Tensai. Then after a while, I decided to switch the Tensai back into the Epic Flash thinking it did so well with the Optiforce, maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance in the Flash, and golly, fiddled with the settings (10.5 Flash, +2/N settings, slider weight to 3:00 midway setting, I'm a lefty; debating to try without the slider weight....this weekend), and hitting it marvelously... pretty straight, if offline, it's mostly slight pulls or pushes, but straight and enough to be acceptable (more to do with my ability, or inability, to get deliver the club consistently, but a definite fairway finder! Now I feel like I need another Tensai for my Optiforce as my backup (but Optiforce+Tensai is straighter, still something with these sub-460's that won't let go of me. Funny, I'm 65 and am hitting places in fairways I hit back when I was 45 (been playing my home course since 97).

>

> For some context, with my normal M1 440 gamer (9.5 Atmos Black 7x, fade weighting), if the ball speed hits 170-172, it was crushed. Generally my spin is 2400-2700 with it. The spin was the reason I game the M1 440 in the first place. I can pop it out there 300 when I am swinging well, but that’s certainly not every day.

>

> First swing with the Flash (9* Fade Weighting, AD-IZ 6X) felt like I missed it a touch so I go look at the trackman numbers, 172 ball speed, 290 carry 310 total…on one that felt like a whiff. Hit a couple more, ball speeds start hitting 175-176. Hit 10 total with it, take out two complete wipes and the two longest (to make it fair) I was averaging 309. Blown away by the speed and spin of this club.

>

> Then I took it to the course and couldn't keep it on the planet, way to much hook in that 6X IZ shaft. Figured it was a touch soft for how I load the club, felt great just went way left. On the back nine I threw in a Tensei White 7 TX and hit missles with it, dead straight or a tight draw. It also wentshockingly high for having it cranked down to an "8" with a low launch profile. Next step is to see how much speed I lose with the Tensei 7, the setup goes so straight I may not care!

>

> It also sounds really bad...about the only negative thing I can say about it.

I've got the "regular" EFSZ but otherwise a huge **+1**

Probably just the tiniest bit less forgiving than my old Fusion but carrying the ball at least 10 yards further and it's rolling out more as well.

I hit the TS2 back to back with my 915 D2 and only gained maybe a couple of yards. With my F9 I've gained quite a bit.. Could be leaving some on the table for sure.
