That's exactly what Liz and the team are working on.  Getting it done and doing it right the first time.

Liz brought in the team of Julie Cohen, career coach, to try her 7 keys of action and Mike Holmes.

Millennial Life Counseling is certainly getting a lot of exposure in this thread. I hope you are getting paid for it...

Where does that come from? I am in no way saying he’s done. Far from it as he is trending the right way. That said....he needs a kick in the Word not allowed on Sunday. Shooting a field average round will not get it done and should not be defended.

PS this comeback, if he completes it, would not be of epic proportions imo. Good, yes...epic?

2022 Masters, Tiger comes back and JS hasn't won yet and are in the final group together. Who are you rooting for?

Epic for a non injury comeback.  Name one from worse ?  Say he gets back inside top 5.   From outside 100.  Who has done better ? After being #1 ?

it comes from my sense that if myself and a few others swapped thoughts and said “ yep. He’s done “ this thread would quickly turn into a complete bashing of the poor guy.   The bias you accuse me of maybe true. But the bias posts you guys put out are equally noted.  He could win this week and be criticized as a “ fluke “.  Lol.  It’s just funny and sad to watch.

Tiger. Not even a close call. That comeback would be epic.

Don’t worry.  Heard it hear first.  He’s going to peak at the right time this year.  Augusta.  The obvious place for the win.

I would not call it a fluke if he won. He is a good player who has been floundering.  Badly. And his ranking would have been worse if not for the guaranteed points he made in no cut events the last few years.

Strickers return would be better imo. He was never #1 but had fallen so far he won Comeback Player of the Year two years in a row!

Up until recently, its already been like this for the majority of this thread. Armchair athletes critiquing the swing mechanics, coaching and caddy choices of a 3x major winner Lol.

Sure. But.  To suggest that he’d be off the map if not for the exemptions from past success is like saying Dustin Johnson would be selling used cars if he wasn’t naturally talented.  Both are true , but neither are based in reality.

im not trying to be a jerk , but Rory and a lot of other guys also enjoy job security based on their past wins.  It’s the way the tour guarantees it’s very survival.  People would lose interest if the guy they loved today was out of a job next year based on the “ what have you done for me lately “ clause.  This game is too consuming for that much heat.

FWIW the lowest Spieth has fallen in the OWGR was #92 after the Farmers earlier this year. Moved back into the top 70 the next week at Phoenix.

Yea.  I did repeat some hyperbole an announcer said didn’t I. I believe the quote was “ he was on danger  of dropping outside the top 100 “.    So yes.

You misunderstood. What I was saying had nothing to do with past wins and exemptions. The WGC events only care about OWGR...being in the top 60, or 64 for match play. Those events were free points. He sudden recovery of late came at a great time for him as he was down to the point he would not have been exempt for those. He has this year and next, I believe and could be wrong, of tour exemptions for his Open Championship in 2017. That is a separate subject.

Jordan finished his round doing his best impression of a mental midget.  Pros have such fantastic gifts with how well they can play so many shots, but there are places at Sawgrass you cannot hit it.  Too much aggression and not enough respect (fear).  Jordan was fortunate to make bogey.

Hossler is having a rough go of it out there today.  He's too long for that course.

Is that why they call him “ long-bow” ?

Shot -4 today.  Anyone who watched, how did his round look? Was it his usual grinding style and making some putts? How did his Driver look?

From the parts I saw looked pretty good, there was some misses of the tee as usual and the usual grind but at least it looked better than friday, worse than thursday

Spieth's second round 74 probably cost him a chance at this title. BUT, the second round scoring average I believe was around 77.

So, his round was actually significantly better than average. I can't say it was a bad round.

2nd round scoring average was actually 72.03 There were only 9 scores 77 or higher in the 2nd round out of 153 scores. 1st round scoring average was 73.8

wow sorry I was way off. I guess the 74 was a bad round then, maybe.

sorry for the fake news

where did you get that stat, if you don’t mind sharing?

Edited by straightshot7
My math went wrong because I thought it was the usual 144 players, but in fact it’s 154 participants 🤦‍♂️ (Minus 1 WD after round 1)

Totaled all the 2nd round scores from pgatour.com into a spreadsheet and divided by 153 as a player W/D after the first round (Kevin Na).

Thanks and not saying that was to blame but if true, it played a large part of his downfall.

I remember folks commenting a couple of years ago about Jordan going weaker with his grip and how obviously stupid it was to do so.  This should serve as a reminder that these guys and their coaches are not dummies and make changes for reasons.  Sure, 20-20 hindsight would say to have had surgery and get things fixed, but those results aren't a guarantee either.

Good memory.  I probably heard it at the time, but didn't think it significant.
