Callaway Apex CF19 4-iron -OR- X-Forged UT 21*?

Trying to round out the top end of my bag and deciding whether to go with the CF19 4-iron or the UT 21. Both are the same loft and I would probably build the heads to match a standard for iron length which for me is 38 1/2”. This club is primarily a tee club for position and also would be utilized on longer par 3's. Ideally I’d prefer something that launches the highest and is fairly forgiving -- does anyone have experience with both? I think they will both be fairly forgiving with the cup face but my gut tells me the UT will actually launch lower. UT has less offset and hollow body construction.

I was debating the CF19 3 iron or the UT21* as well but I went with the UT. I cant comment on the CF19 but I can confirm the UT most definitely launches low.

I play the x forged UT 18* and a CF16 4-iron at 21*. Both are beasts off the tee but the Apex definitely feels better, and also launches higher. UT is great for low straight bullets but honestly the hollow body doesn't feel nearly as good as the apex. I would say the forgiveness between the two are very similar. Since you're looking for a 4-iron only I would suggest the CF19. Better feel but higher launch and spin.

What about the Epic 3 or 4 iron, see lots of those in the PGA WITB section for Callaway guys? Probably can pic up fairly cheap. I play UT 24 instead of my 5i and like it a bunch.

That UT is just so versitile and easy to hit and for me I launched it higher.

since you said you will be using it as a fw finder, the UT is the ez choice

I just don't see the Epic iron being that massively different than the Apex CF19 to be honest...

I chose the epic 4i over the old 21* ut and over the old apex 4i.

 

21* ut with kbs shaft a ton of air time, did not like it.

 

Apex 4i old was good but epic is easier and lower ball flight like a canon, NO BALLOONING AT ALL.

 

i like the epic line soo much that i got the 5i and 6i, sooo easy to hit no brainer for me.

Phil does, even throws a Rogue in sometimes, no Apex though
