Adam Scott shoes

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what shoe Scott is wearing this week ( Greg).? Looks like a dress shoe with add on spikes. Really sharp whatever it is.

They do look fantastic. That said, I’d rather have a pair made in the US at that price.

Did you guys catch the spikes? I’m not familiar with footjoy shoes ( wear Ecco mostly) the spike sections looked like that add on spike company . Almost looked like this companies bottom.

There are several places in the US where you can have great shoes made. At this price point, made in Portugal and then sold by FJ, you’re not talking about truly great shoes like Crocket & Jones or John Lobb. So the argument that you’re getting an inferior product just isn’t strong.

Twenty years ago I felt paying $300 for FootJoy Classics wasnt crazy or out of line, I owned many pair. Why am I finding it so hard to stretch for $750 now? As funny as it sounds I would probably buy 2 pair if they were priced at $500 per pair whereas I will probably not buy Just one pair for $750. I’m sure inflation adjusted, blah, blah, etc. it is a wash or actually less expensive in 2019 dollars. But.....damn!! Adam Scott’s wingtips on Saturday were so boss I didn’t even notice the pleated slacks. Unfortunately, I like to dress fly like a pimp when I play and it’s way too expensive! ?lol

I agree. With me it’s rarely the dollar amount. But more the perceived value.

Ever look at ecco wingtips ? I own a pair and in my opinion they are top notch for the price.

Thanks @bladehunter. I have seen the Ecco wingtips and l love the black and white with leather sole. I have thought about trying to track down a NOS pair for $300 but have been unsure of the fit and whether it’s a good shoe. The Darren Clarke patent blue and white wingtips were sharp, I would love a pair of those.

Maybe Adam will gift me the shoes he wore at the Masters. The shoes were obviously the reason for his poor putting; he couldn’t stop admiring his sexy AF shoes!

Not sure how the spikes on the 1857's are off the top of my head, but they spikes on Adam's had the look of the old Classic Premieres with the rubber over leather and small metal threaded spikes. Classy pair of shoes for sure. I don't mind the pleated slacks except they were so ill fitting, haha. It's almost as if he asked Tiger for one of his old pairs.

The older players will remember the FJ classics. They were about $3-400 a pair and basically were dress shoes with spikes on the bottom. They were also heavier than normal golf shoes because they were made with quality materials. I worked at GG back then and would buy a pair every month lol. I used to have quite the collection on golf shoes when I worked there. I also still have the very first pair of TW shoes that I got from the nike rep when he came in to show us the new lineup. That was the beginning of the square toe era that became popular for quite a while as well

What are the names of the places in the US to have golf shoes made? Does AE still make them?

It is funny, that playing golf is 3 parts golf and 1 part fashion show... No judgement, I am in the same boat and get laughed at by my wife that the only part of my life where I may sure to coordinate is in my golf ensemble.
