Ping's new G410 LST driver

It sounded like you weren’t sure what your current shaft weighs. The 7 weighs 71/75/79 depending on flex, basically everything but 73.

Oh, I got 73 grams from Ping's website for a 6.0 flex. I guess they listed actual weight after cutting.

It's hard to guess how swing weight will change based solely on the overall weight of the shaft. Different shafts will feel different, even within the same weight range. Some of the club building gurus around here might be able to give you a rough calculation, but chances are, you'd just need to check the SW with the different shafts and adjust the head weight accordingly. Generally, I'd expect a heavier shaft to reduce the SW (more weight toward the hands, so you'd need to add weight to the head), but that's just a general guideline, and it would be very hard to estimate how much the change would be.

Does the G410LST use the same adapter as the G400?

I went ahead and place an order for the G410LST: 9*, Project X Even Flow Black 75 Stiff.

Also I got a used Callaway EFSZ on Amazon.

Will try both and see anyhow I thing the ping will stay. As many say it’s not the longest, but it’s ok long and very forgiving (my G400)

Nope, it sounded like he knew exactly what he was asking. Swing weight isn't total weight, so exact grams wasn't implied by the question in any way.

Today I played my first 18 holes with the G410LST.

I still need some more rounds to submit a better review. I can say it was good, but the sound it’s much better on the G400!!!! This one has like an aluminum sound.

the shaft, Project X Even Flow Black 75 Stiff, so far so good. I think I’m used to the one on the G400 ... needs more testing

i have only used my 410lst twice on the simulator but didn’t think it sounded bad at all. I really like the diamana zf paired with this head

Just purchased a G410 lst. Coming from the 400 Max. I spin the Max at about 2800, but love how many fairways I find with it. Hoping the lst will be close to the forgiveness of the Max, but with better spin.

Anyone played both the 410 plus and LST? Hitting the plus very well/straight, but would not mind a bit less spin but don't want to sacrifice too much of the forgiveness

Have played them both - great drivers for sure. Only 200 or so RPM higher spin in the Plus, but it feels much better and is more forgiving. Will take that any day. Launch and carry almost identical between them as well. Sold the LST and won’t be getting rid of the Plus any time soon.

Still the best driver I’ve ever hit. The spin is just Goldilocks right. It allows varying trajectories at will which is great for wind. Bunlike some moon ball launchers that you can’t flight down.

Do what I did and get it hot melted. I had an 8 gram weight installed and 8-10 grams of hot melt put into the low face. It kicked spin down a bit and made it sound even better. The LST launched the same for me against my plus but did spin a bit less. Once I got the plus back with the adjustments, it was noticeably lower on launch and spin. Just added a Ventus Black to it and made it even better. I would say the shaft made more of the difference for me than the hot melt though. I was originally playing mine on the big minus and after the shaft change moved to the small minus. Could probably go to neutral and be fine.

Yeah I might give that a whirl, been wanting to hot melt it anyway and I needed extra head-weight since lead tape wont stay stuck to the dang thing.

I owned this for a round and could not elevate it off the tee which was strange since I’m a high ball high spin player. A few drives were low knuckles with no distance. The loft was 9* and the shaft was an even flow 6.0 which to this day is the heaviest driver shaft I’ve ever used which may have cause issues.

I have my LST hot melted by Ping and it really improved the sound.
I hit 3 drivers at the range yesterday(first session this year) and smashed three straight ones, put it away. I was shocked how straight they went considering my lack of practice.

I had digital loft so I think it was 10/15 dollars through DD. certainly worth it. I got mine dead on 9*, specified the head weight exactly.

I'm playing the zf in a g410 lst as well and it's a bomber! Nothing but little fades all day long! Highly recommended!

Made a few swing changes (finally able to generate a lot of spin) which has killed me with driver. I was always super low spin and high launch. Well, launch stayed high, but spin went from 2000 to 3500.

I have a fitting scheduled for the 24th, but hard to wait that long with ill-fitted equipment so I put the + against the LST with same grip, shaft, and loft.

Great hits with the + went high and still spun too much max drive 270.

Great hits with the LST went 290 total and my misses went 270. Fairly certain the LST has a heavier head, because I could feel it better in the swing which made consistency easier and I could feel the shaft load a bit better.

Now to resist the urge to switch before the fitting...

Just picked up the G410 LST and I am excited to get it in! Never hit Ping before this (coming out of TS3). Felt so pure when testing it! Now just need the snow to melt...
