Ping's new G410 LST driver

GolfWRX_Spotted

mine is heavy at 209g requested from Ping with some hot melt. think mine has 3g and a heavier wight in the back.

They say standard is 208g but I assume that is with the adapter.

I am still searching for the right shafts with my LST head. Played the KK XT60 TX, the EvenFlow black 75 6.5, the Tensei Pro White 70TX, and now have an Accra Xtreme 465 M5 on the way. I don't have a scale, but my head must be very heavy as the swing weight is so heavy it's almost unmanageable with those shafts at 45". I like D4-5, but it was much heavier than that. I guess that's why so many have so much luck with CB shafts. Any of you guys at higher speed (115+) have a favourite counter balanced shaft you've played in the LST?

played my first round coming from a g400 lst.. have to say the 410 lst is very solid...not as sweet as the g400 lst feel wise..but equally long and the settings are a big plus...g400 lst is more fun

really irritating not being able to share adaptor between the two

Ditched the sim max to get back into the g410+ and plugged in a ventus black 7x. Thinking it should be a winning combo

I dont think 115+ and harsh really exist. Try the orange and t1100 in your preferred weight and tipping preference and call it a day. Personally I liked the t1100 better but others like the orange. Not sure which black are you speaking about.

There are some CB Options out there no doubt. I’m with you on the weight. It feels like a sledgehammer without a CB shaft.

VA Nemesys

Tensei Orange pro

Accra TZ-5 or 6

etc.........

Some may be a better fit for you due to tempo, transition, release etc...... I’m deliberate/easy/late at 114-116ss

I’m sure people here could better steer you into the right direction within the CB genre with a bit of data provided ?

I just bought an Aldila X-Torsion 60TX but I’m sure the Tensei Orange Pro is great. I have the Orange (non pro) in 70X and Its not bad numbers wise, but it just feels dead to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . I haven’t received the Copper yet, so I can’t comment on it, but from what I’ve read here in WRX about it’s profile and similarities to a Tensei Orange V2, then it should be a good fit for me.

If the price was right on a Tensei Orange pro in a 60TX, I would have gone that route after having hit the non pro version.

Happy hunting!

Fuji fanboy here but I wouldn't say the Ventus Black is harsh at all. Its a very smooth shaft with a one piece feel but feel is subjective. The only time I would consider it harsh is on extreme misses. The shaft just doesn't torque and it lets you know it. I have it in my LST and I don't even think about experimenting with drivers which is a revelation for me.

I don't want to drop the head weight as in theory a heavier head swung at the same speed as a lighter one will produce faster ball speed. So I just need to find a shaft that allows that in this head. The trial and error is part of the fun as well. Next will most likely be a TZ6. I just love the way Accra shafts feel

I'd go with something with a track record. Tz6 sounds gimmicky. Plus its mid to high launch, that sounds like a bad recipe for a ping. Although they do make the counterbalance version of the tz6. Each manufacturer is different, I know the orange is very counterbalanced. T1100 is also but slightly less so than the orange. Hzrdus yellow is a cheaper CB option as well.

...so that is why I think it is really harsh then, even in a 6.0.

I think I’ll leave this to you big boys and stick with my Evenflow blue/Hzrdus red.

I did hit the Ping with a non pro stock Tensei orange In an X, to me that felt amazingly smooth but that is at a swingspeed of 100-104.

I’ve also really enjoyed Fujikura Pro 2.0 which might help.

I had the Tensei Orange 60 x stiff (65g) in my G410 LST. After seeing all the buzz surrounding the Nemesys, I had to try it. Back tracking a little, I had previously used the TS3 paired with T1100 even flow. Turned it up to 10.5 degrees. The LST with the Tensei was longer for me than the TS3 right out of the gate. I have found that I like a heavier head to give me the sense of where it is in my back swing. I wasn't as consistent as I wanted to be (left to right) with the Tensei though. So again, with the buzz, I pulled the trigger on the VA Nemesys 65 gram x stiff shaft. It's unreal. I've never hit something and felt so confident on what it will do. Distance was similar to Tensei but consistency was way up and so was ball flight. So I tried something I didn't think I would ever do. Keep in mind, I'm coming from that 10.5 degree setting and I'm already lower at 9 with the LST. I dialed it down 1 degree lower as the ball flight height had increased. It blew my mind. Ball flight was still decently high, medium I would say, but distance increased easily by 15-20 yards. Meanwhile, my dispersion remained consistent. I couldn't be happier with this combination. The TS3 shaft length I played at 45" and the LST was std at 45.25" I believe. If you've never tried it, the LST/Nemesys combo is definitely worth checking out in my book.

Tried both the Plus and LST last year, much longer stint with the Plus than the LST as the LST was more of a demo with the shaft from the Plus and just didn’t jive with that combo. I did like the Plus but had a couple issues which would rear their ugly head a few times a round - either shots that would overdraw or times where I felt like I hit it great and it seemed to stall in the air from too much spin. I would consider myself a relatively low-spin player so that to me was confusing and something I couldn’t get past so eventually moved on.

Fast forward to the past month and I decided to give the LST a try again. Based on the head weight being heavy as is typical of Ping I threw together a HZRDUS Yellow at 45” combined with a lighter adjustable weight that I had left over from last year. Swing weight came out perfect, and although the counter balance does make it feel light, it also feels like I can swing it a little faster.

So far I am super impressed. Forgiveness is out of this world for a low-spin head and somehow seems even better than I remember the Plus being. My miss with it is toe side and it seems to handle those even better than my SIM. No left shots and I can even put a draw swing on it and it just falls a little left. I have hit a couple with more fade than I expected but I will blame those on the operator although something I will keep an eye on. Flight is more forward and flatter while still getting plenty of height to maintain carry. It does seem a tiny bit louder than I expected which is my only real complaint. Haven’t changed any loft, lie, or weight settings but may do some tweaking to see how it goes. To be honest I didn’t expect the HZRDUS yellow to work as I’ve only ever tried it in a fairway, but so far not bad. Great shape, appearance at address, and in my opinion the best adjustability of any manufacturer. Glad I gave it another chance.

Just started playing this combo myself. I was testing the LST 9* set to little minus with the stock shaft against my TS3 and it was shockingly good. Sold the TS3 and put the ping tip on my Hzrdus yellow 63g X stiff. Feels absolutely perfect so far but we will see how it goes on course. Quarantine got the better of me and my entire bag is new so I expect a few rough rounds haha.

I don't know what it is with PING as they have always been known for making such great irons but WOW! they have made some Awesome driver over the past 6-7 years. I gave up on my TM SIM MAX as I could not find a god tempo that gave me a consistent ball flight with the accuracy I was looking for. Now the SIM MAX is long as one of their nicest drivers to date but I ended up trying the 410 SFT and I was finding more fairways than ever. Confidence level doubled. either dead straight or a 10 yrd. draw which was a bit too much.

I'm now with the 410 LST 10.5* with a Tour AD IZ6 shaft and I shot my best round with it and only missed 1 fairway which was one the very 1st hole. I'm 64 and for the very 1st time I played from the senior Tee's and I actually felt like I was cheating as I drove 3 par 4's all which was under 300 yards. but hazards on both sides and in front. No I didn't make any eagles but did get 2 birdies so all I can say is sorry SIM MAX this 410 LST has just kicked you to the curb.
