Ping G410 - EvenFlow Black 75

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have experience with the stock shaft offerings in the Ping G410 driver, more specifically the EvenFlow Black 75? It is classified as Low trajectory/Low spin, and I'm trying to gather feedback on how heavy/stiff the shaft actually is.

I currently play a Project X 7C3 6.0 in my old Titleist driver and wanted to move to a stiffer flex this time around. The 6.0 honestly feels whippy and I probably should be closer to an extra stiff based on my swing speed. I play Project X 6.0 in all of my irons and love them, but understand the PX graphite shaft ratings don't necessarily translate well into their steel offerings. I'm also a little concerned about the weight, since the stock offering is the 75, not 65 -- it's a 79 gram shaft in 6.5.

Any feedback welcome!

The 6.0 EF Black will almost a full flex stiffer than the 7C3, so even if the 7C3 was a bit soft, you will still be good in the 6.0 EF Black, which is only a few grams heavier than the 7C3.

I play the EF Black 65 in my G400 LST and absolutely love it. One of the smoothest feeling shafts I've ever played. I've never tried the 75g, but the 65g doesn't feel too stiff to me. I posted this in another thread but I play stiff shafts in everything else and actually went up to the 6.5 to get a slightly firmer feel.

So, just to confirm, you're saying an EvenFlow Black 6.0 is going to play almost a full flex stiffer than my 7C3 6.0?

I got fitted for this head and shaft combo, it give me the most accuracy out of all of the shaft offerings from Ping. This is the first time I have had a shaft in the 70g plus range but early impressions on the course have shown its really helping with eliminating my most destructive miss on the left (RH golfer)

I to have this shaft/head combo. Realize a few things here. When Ping puts this combo together in a standard off the shelf driver, the head weight will be 4-5 grams lighter than their other stock offerings due to the EF Black being 1. Heavier and 2. non-counterbalance. I did not find the EF Black to play any stiffer than the Ping Tour 65 shaft though. I ordered a 16 gram weight (12 came stock with the EF Black) and I can switch these shafts out without changing swing weight.

I play this combo and really enjoy the stability and ball flight. For giggles I had all of the stock offerings in STIFF available to me. At first I though the EF 75 was a little too heavy and board like, but using them in play quickly found the EF to be better for distance and control. Shot shape and height were stable. Made the other shafts feel wobbly and I lost confidence in them. The EF I can hit hard or soft and I get great results. (Swing Speed 103-108 with a driver for me, Handicap 1-3)

Probably closer to 3/4 stiffer.

Really about 4/5s stiffer

Just picked this shaft up and am going to play it in a 9* 400 Max head this week.  The EF shafts feel SO good, so smooth.  I tried it in the 410+ originally but was not much a fan of the + so I didnt give it much chance.  It did seem to give me a lower than normal ball flight so I am hoping to see some slightly different results with the 400 Max.  Will report back as I really want to like this shaft on the course.

loving it!!!  Evenflow was quickly replaced with my go to shaft (Speeder 651 TX)...GAME CHANGER for me.  Draw weight and small + allows me to go after it while substantially eliminating my high straight push.   I can even hit the baby fade I've been seeking for 7 yrs!!!
