In 14 days ………Sheep ranch and a pastrami sandwich.

I scarfed one down ten mins before teeing off and I regret not ordering earlier so I could take my time to enjoy it.  10/10.

I do feel like it helped my hit that 10' slider for par on the first though, so there's that.

Okay just called and switched out a second Sheep round for another Pacific round. So now I have one round each on Sheep and Old Mac then two on Pacific, Bandon Dunes, and Trails. I play all five different courses first so I can adjust my last three replay rounds again if I really like a certain course.

How long does an afternoon round at Sheep Ranch usually take? Planning a sunset round in mid September (sun goes down around 7:30) and wanted to make sure we could get in a full 18 if we tee off at 3:10-20

Depends entirely on who's in front of you and what the cloud cover is like but you should have a pretty good shot at finishing if you tee off before 3:30.

Yeah, you are at the complete mercy of 8 hours of play in front of you. From experience first 3 tee times in the not guaranteed to finish window always seem to finish. After that, oooph, good luck. One thing I’ve noticed is no one seems to try and hustle pre sunrise and have no cares about the groups behind them

Watching the weather, looking at course cams, and getting the kit ready are all part of the fun. Leaving next Wednesday on our 21st annual Bandon trip. Something to look forward to all year.

I saw two carts on my trip there last April. First time I've ever seen a cart in use.

Available if medically required, caddy drives you. Two years ago our caddy was actually in one because he had surgery on his shoulder? a few weeks prior and one of the guys in our group was a childhood friend of him so very nice that the resort let him take a cart so he could caddy for his buddy.

So those black mat looking things I see on Pacific are for ground under repair?

Yes. There are some fairways where the ball tends to collect a lot in certain areas due to the undulation of the ground. Because of that those areas tend to get pretty beaten up from time to time, so they put nets out and you take a free drop elsewhere. I think Pacific and Trails are more prone to this, I don't recall seeing it as much on Bandon, Old Mac or Sheep.

In June I'm flying from Orlando (MCO) to Eugene and have an almost 3 hour layover in Dallas (DFW). Debating the best way to get my clubs to Bandon. I have a coupon code for free return shipping with ship sticks I'm thinking of using. Looking at $154 for 3 day shipping out, and free ground shipping back. With the airline I'm flying baggage fees would amount to $60 round trip. For the Bandon veterans, what's the play here? Thanks in advance.

This is what I did - I actually paid for the overnight shipping and had them arrive a day early, so I sent them two days beforehand - with free ground shipping on return, believe it was $195 total. Couldnt have been easier, Bandon delivered them to my room at the Inn and when we left you just drop them off with them at the front golf check in area - they deal with tons of these a day, they absolutely know the drill. Its just so easy and one less thing to deal with.

The bigger concern with flying clubs going for Bandon is if you're going into North Bend, with the lack of cargo space on the tiny airplane that goes into it, full of other golfers. Eugene shouldn't have that issue and 3 hours should be plenty for your clubs to get onto the next plane, should...

For me, I don't like to take chances, so for a big trip like that I'd probably still ShipSticks it. In the end you're looking at about $100 difference, which in the greater scope of spending for this trip isn't all that much.

Question for the Bandon guys….we will be arriving on a Saturday and staying at the local Best Western before our rounds start on Sunday. So the question is…could we go eat at McKee’s for dinner that night and watch the ACC tourney along with hitting the Punch Bowl right before dinner?

Absolutely.
