PXG 0211 irons - what do you think?

has anyone bought just the 4 iron as a utility / driving iron? Or in general does anyone have feed back on the 4i specifically?

 

With the sale im considering getting the 4i and bending it 2 degrees strong. I have a 790 UDI and love it but find it useful for mainly tee shots. Off the fairway I still hit low bullets

Seems to be generally about 10-14 days from ordering to delivery.

No...too much offset especially if bending strong. Better off with the 0311X...low offset and long!

kind of what I was afraid of. I like the idea of stronger 4irons in the game improvement and forgiveness but those offsets with 4mm+ dont work for me. The 0211 didnt look too bad offset wise.... ill check out the 0311x.

LMAO,your so right and I am in that group. Never satisfied but looking back over 40 years and 50 good used or new sets nother really changes. Just us old guys wanting a new toy.

I did this and really liked it but the offset was extremely pronounced. Went w/ the Gen 2 0311p in its place and replaced my hybrid w/ the 3i in G2 0311p

Mine were just delivered via Purolator (4-PW with Steelfiber fc115s). I'll pull them out tonight after work. Still can't hit them, no ranges/courses open (weather and non-essential), and no net delivered yet. :-(

Have been playing 0211 for a moth now and could not be happier with the results

Compared to my Apex 19, much more point and shoot, same ball flight, and more spin. Seem to play a club shorter, but of course lofts are different. Clubs can be worked both ways, but want to go where started.

what shafts are you playing with your 0211s? trying to decide between the two sets.

Just curious if anyone happens to know what pxg does with the returned sets of 0211's.? Do they sell them to places like global golf, and 2nd swing? Or do they refinish them and resell them as new? I know there are some ping irons that can be refinish to like new, I e1's for example, had mine refinished before and they looked brand new.

I just picked up a set with Modus 120’s that I was for into a few months ago at PXG. Ditched the 790’s with Modus 105. Played the 790’s since this release and loved the 0211’s during my fitting.

Got lucky on EBay and there was the exact set I needed at a great price. The seller was fit for them here in AZ.

By the way, if you live by a PXG center they now offer curbside pickup to save $60 in shipping. My fitter let me know yesterday. I asked him when the new driver will be released... no text back yet?

I am playing the elevate 95, the same as in my Apex. I do have elbow issues, but graphite is just too inconsistent. The TT seem to be the best steel shafts for me.

I have two rounds in with my new 0211’s. Swing was much better one round vs the other so results were inconsistent. Coming from Callaway Big Bertha (2015) and liking the change. Look at setup is much better in the PXG’s. The MMC graphite shafts launch the ball nicely. I’ve found toe strikes will fly straight but distance is penalized severely. The scoring irons (7-GW) are money. My proximity to pin from 125 in is WAY better than the BB’s.

I shot a 41 first round. 47 second. As I said, swing was inconsistent second day but so far irons perform well when I put a decent swing on the ball. Very happy with irons.

You will be atleast a club longer... maybe more.They are bigger in size to look down at. Oh wait.... they will feel much better also.

Makes sense. I guess. Thing weighs a ton with all the PXG branded foam in the box so it would be difficult to reuse.

Reminds me of the Yellow Scotty Cameron boxes. They are oversized as well just not to the level of PXG with its presentation.

All that is missing is a bright light and some music when you pull the foam up to see the shiny new club.

Another thing I am loving about my 0211s is that after 10 months, around 100 rounds, and quite a few range sessions, after a good cleaning my 0211's look practically new.

I finally order my 0211 today, the PXG person was so nice and so helpful, his name was Spencer. I got the MMT 70, I feel this shaft will be good for me, I had Alta CB 55 with my Ping G410 and I did not like those shafts. I had been fit on the phone, but I work at a golf shop and we do fitting so I was all set with that, now...I have to wait about 10 to two weeks until the get here, that is very hard to do, but it will be outstanding when the clubs get here...I even bought a PXG hat to go with it (In my golf shop we give a hat with a new set of irons, hahahaha)

I was going to order a Gen 2 driver but passed because of the shipping cost. I'm in the Phx metro area and have always picked up from HQ. I called Monday to check and they said there is no pick up at this time.

Strange. I got a text on Sunday from the fitter that knows me there at PXG HQ and said they were starting curbside pickup. Maybe he released info a little too soon. I would check back in a few days.

Still waiting on mine to ship but for those of you that have them- how do they compare to some of the other companies hollow irons in terms of distance/ball speed, spin, feel, size etc.

I’m hoping for high launch low-ish spin
