I will try again this year. I was lucky enough to be selected a few years back for practice round tickets. It was a blast seeing the course and watching the players practice.

I have applied for practice round tickets since the first year they went to lottery (1995). I have also applied for tournament proper tickets since they started, I forget which year but can guarantee I applied for them. I am 0 for every year but hope this year will change. If not I will be home watching unless one of my buddies gets tickets.

A few more questions and declarations that only one application per household will be accepted than I remember. Maybe they’ve noticed some issues with that. Must mean I’m a shoe-in this year.

Glove: ML
Tees: 2 3/4
Towel: white
Repair tool: metal
Ball Marker: largest poker chip in the world
Iron headcovers: wait, what?

The feedback system is annoying

They caught and charged a guy for using stolen emails. The ANC mean business. My buddy who lives in Augusta said they are very seriously considering using facial recognition for next year. There is at least 2 more tickets in the lottery since his mother-in-law passed away and was the holder of the tickets. I'll enter, but not holding my breath.

I never read fine print but I noticed this little addition:

_Improving, Evolving and Protecting the Masters Tournament Experience. ANI may use RFID tags and scanners to track Ticket locations in and around ANI property; to determine vehicle and traffic flow patterns and patron travel flow patterns; and to track and monitor Ticket use and attendance._

Under the guise of tracking traffic flow they could theoretically now track who sells tickets to people as they are leaving - and ban those people from ever buying tickets again?

Maybe also see where clusters tickets in the hands of resellers are?

Good news is if I lose mine (optimistic) maybe they can fire up their tracker technology and tell me where in the house I left them!

That's pretty ominous. They send you your tickets and then you send them (or sell them), they could track them. They likely know where all the re-sellers are located and if they go there, I'm sure they would be cancelled. I think the re-sellers of tickets are doomed.

While I can understand the temptation to sell Masters tickets because of the profit to be made, I would never sell any ticket I were to be selected for. I was fortunate to attend the 2015 Monday practice round because my buddy had friends who had Masters practice rounds in hand. He traded two 2015 MLB All Star tickets for two Masters Monday practice round tickets. What an experience that was. The opportunity to attend a Masters tournament is pretty rare for those of us not privileged to have annual passes.

Lol facial recognition. They could just put your name on the ticket and your ID has to match and they don't even bother doing that, but sure, they're gonna roll out facial recognition.

They have virtually unlimited budgets. I can see patrons holding tickets needing to supply pictures of those that might be using the tickets. For example my friend that used to have tickets shared them with 6 family members. Wouldn't be hard to submit 6 pictures and store them in a database.

Was surprised to see the one person per household restriction this year, but I guess I don't really disagree with it.

I am kind of torn on the whole elimination of the resale market. On one hand, these people ruin the chances for people who legitimately want to go to the Masters, but at the same time, if I miss out on the lottery and want to go, I feel like it is my right to drop 3K on a ticket if I want to.

Wouldn’t facial recognition eliminate the need for badges and IDs?
