Slicefixer. Any updates? Anyone still working with him?

I know his name was mentioned....not sure. I dont like the lack of youtube vids or website on slicefixer. Enough online stuff to get a feel for others that are v good teachers.

Dan Whitaker spent some time with Geoff about 10 years ago. Geoff was very generous in sharing his swing concepts and ideology. Since then, Dan has incorporated much of what he learned from Geoff into his own teachings. Dan does have a substantial YouTube presence and his video production is high quality.

Unlike many popular instructors these days, Geoff doesn't put much out there on YouTube or social media except for the occasional FB post highlighting accomplishments of his students. I don't think he's worried much about marketing and apparently has as much business as he needs through word of mouth.

The fact that an instructor doesn't market aggressively or showcase on Youtube indicates nothing about the quality and effectiveness of his instruction. Plenty of golf coaches to choose from,, but there's no substitute for the OG IMO

Well said @dpb5031. social media is a way to advertise which Geoff has chosen not to do. If you read the encyclopedia TXK and review his old post here you can get a good sense of his teachings. Or you can see many of his students swings on YouTube.

How about giving stuff back to people...example mike malaska has a ton of stuff. Does Malaska do it for advertising his 400 per hr rates...um no. When your in secret in 2020 it isnt much to my liking. There are plenty of excellent instructors who are on instagram..you tube.

I only was there twice .... two days each time with about one year inbetween. I worked a tonn between the two sessions and on my second trip I had the fundamentals pretty well dialled in. I played my best golf that winter. Nowdays I don't play and practice often enough so it comes and goes. Of course I hope it will stick some sunny day. If I still lived in Tx I probably would have seen him once a year.

You can call it what you want, but several teachers would be invisible to most people if they didn't make their work visible on youtube. And that visibility generates clients. Using social media is a very good way for a teacher to show what he has to offer.

Doubt if he cares if you like it and those guys are on YouTube for marketing and monetizing, not to "give back".

Looks like your thing is to join and start trolling instructors you don't like and posting stuff to intentionally get a rise in other threads - maybe take a different approach (if it's not the same old approach reincarnated, then please just stop).

Geoff’s a phenomenal guy who spent a long time posting his content. It’s a very worthwhile read for anyone needing a clue where to start in golf.

For those that have applied the GJ swing and pivot... my understanding is that most find it easier to adjust and move to this type of pivot with flatter lie angles. If you moved to flatter lie angles how flat did you go? Thanks.

Flatter lie angles will only work if you're shallowing sufficiently. Height and arm length are also significant factors. My irons are 2.5 flat. I'm average height with long(ish) arms for me height.

I am 4-5 degrees flat, but my arms hang low. IMO you shouldn't bend them flat just because. Just bend them flat until your divots are symmetric heel to toe. If your clubs are too upright you are likely to dig with the heel, and if you bend them a few degrees flat, you may go after it and still dig with the heel - because you have been adapting to upright lie angles.

I experimented with slightly flatter lie angles a few years ago and it works for me. I don’t think flatter is inherently better, just found out it is appropriate for me.

I've known Dan for over a decade and the sharing was mutual. They shared a mutual belief in the fundamentals of a good golf swing and talked for hours together about Hogan and swing mechanics. 

I created a version of the ET that I'm not sure was ever released. Geoff was very impressed with it, but he held it back because it was too close to what he was doing with his book (which never happened). I stepped away from golf shortly after through ill health so I'm not sure if my copy ever ended up here. I still have it. 

The sad thing is that Geoff and Dan offered me a spot on their UK clinic as a 'thank you', but I wasn't well enough to accept.

I guess that it would be okay. It's all the same material as in the original - I just edited and organised it. It doesn't look like Geoff is ever releasing a book.

It really is unfortunate that he is not releasing the book. I think it would be very good.
