Set Gap wedge. I can do anything with it that I can a specialty wedge plus it flows with the set and is more forgiving on full shots.

The Cleveland CBX 50* is a great hybrid between the set gap wedge (cavity back and forgiveness for full shots) and specialty gap wedge (full face milling and better grooves). I will say it's a little

Dedicated. If you're hitting it 115-125 you'll find better response and feedback than a set wedge.

> At my home course I'm faced with a lot of 115 to 125 yard shots which is a gap wedge distance for me. Just wondering what everyone prefers? A set gap wedge or a dedicated gap wedge for these shots?

I am addressing this as we speak. I got the Apex 2019s. The PW is 43. The Apex AW is 48. I figured I could use PW between 90 and 130 since I carry 56/60. However, recently I haven't been able soften the PW enough to control the 100 yd shot. I have been regularly overshooting.

So, I got a 48 Vokey SM7 as a temp till I decide on whether I build up the top or bottom of bag. Well, I decided i'm gonna carry an 18* hybrid and 20* hybrid so I will only carry three wedges. I am going to stick with PW/54/60. Short courses i'll drop the 2 HY and carry 4 wedges PW/48/54/60. Long, wet or windy conditions i'll carry the 2 HY and then PW/54/60.

54 will cover upwards of 100 yds and in which will resolve my 43* PW issue.

I prefer the set gap wedge. For me, this club is really an 11-iron and used almost exclusively for full swings (edit: there are 3/4 swings/knockdowns with this club just like any iron. However, I don't use it for pitching/chipping). I like the consistent look/feel as the rest of my irons. If you don't use the 50* around the green much, most people would say get the set gap wedge. If you use it around the green a lot, you probably want something else. Truth is, even if it's primarily a full shot club, it probably doesn't matter much. It's not like a 50* Vokey is an overly demanding club to hit.

In the same dilemma. Looking for a 50* gap wedge to go with 45/46* PW. I like going with a non-set wedge because I love chipping and pitching with a 50 around the greens. Right now I have the 50 PING Glide SS. I really like the SS grind around the greens but I'm not sold on the full shots with it. I feel like the shaft is not doing anything for me and club goes a little high and spins a little much. I'm thinking about a Vokey 50* with the F grind in 8 or 12 degree bounce. A Cobra 50* with versatile grind 8 degree bounce.

Love my AP2 50*

The SM7 54 is great too... I’ve considered playing an SM7 50, but the GW for me is more full shot and the AP2 is soft and easy to flight and play all the shots I need from a 50*

Favorite ever? Adams A4 Forged 50*

Haven't found one I loved since, but I'm fairly happy with my Forged tech Black 50* or my Z765 51*

I use the 50 primarily for full 100-105 yard shots.

The Cleveland CBX 50* is a great hybrid between the set gap wedge (cavity back and forgiveness for full shots) and specialty gap wedge (full face milling and better grooves). I will say it's a little firm for delicate shots, so its versatility probably expires around 40 yards or so depending on your "feel" preference.

Simply use a shaft change to fine-tune the flight.

I use a set UW which is 49.5*. Use it for full shots and a bit of chipping, strangely I use a set SW for pitching. Both of these appear to be more consistent than several specialist wedges I used including a 50* Glide 2.0, a 52* Callaway Md3 and a 52* Cleveland CBX. Still use MD4 for my 58* and 64* though as they’re more versatile at those lofts, but for full shots why change to something other than your set.

I wish Mizuno would hurry up and get the new T series wedges out. I would love to try a 50* gap wedge with my MP64s

I use a 50* Vokey sm7. I’ve never been a fan of using the set gap wedge. I find I have better control and more versatility with a dedicated gap wedge.
