Dallas/Ft Worth Area Courses

Waterchase was great Saturday.  Greens were green, receptive, and lightning fast.  Just need the fairways to green out.  Lies weren't bad but hitting off of freshly mowed green grass is just better.

Split Rail is a mess as well. Greens are mostly dead and lots of dead patches throughout course.  Really a shame that course is usually in excellent shape.

Spoke with the pro at split rail. He says they need a week of 150 temp index (low and high temp together added = 150) and they will be fine.

Played this Yesterday . The Greens were in excellent shape and the fairways are coming along nicely. The bunker's were trash . They fix the bunkers this course will give a run to any (Public) course in the area.

Anyone know how they are setting up Rangers to play this week for the Korn Ferry?  They have to make 13 and 18 a par 4, right??  If not the scores are going to be stupid low.

Going off of scorecard (which was more confusing than I had anticipated because it looks like they flipped the nines for the tournament), playing 13 as a par 4 for par 71

Woodbridge greens are really nice and enjoy the course layout (new to North Dallas).

- KC

Now that is a course i have not thought about in a while b/c of condition.  Really wanted to play Firewheel(bridges) b/c they are holding the Byron qualifier but it looks like they shut all the courses down until Thursday.

Hello fellas,

Sorry about all the cold weather this winter. Normally that crap stops somewhere between I70 & hwy50 up here.

My wife and I are coming down from KC area for the Charles Schwab Challenge the end of May at Colonial CC. (Just final day)
I am hoping to line up a round at Pecan Valley either the day before or day after.

Has anyone played either course recently?
Can you confirm that it is public?

any other info welcome

For the record, I played Grapevine a few times a couple years ago and enjoyed the practice area almost as much as the course. Great vibe and fun people. I read somewhere that Byron Nelson designed it. Are there any local munis associated with Hogan by chance? I just think of Colonial and Shady Oaks which are both private correct?

thanks

Can confirm that Pecan Valley is public, and if I were you I would do what I can to play the River course and avoid the Hills course out there. Hills isn't terrible just never in nearly as good of shape as the River course. Hills is also a little more wide open with less trees, water, etc.

Thanks a lot for the reply HZ, and the confirmation that Pecan Valley is public. I will focus on the River course.

sounds like the conditions are improving daily and I’m stoked to be able to visit Ft Worth again
