Tom Weiskopf and it’s not close imho Although DJ is closer than I thought... Weiskopf had more than 20 top 10s and a bunch of 2nds he should’ve/could’ve won.. I suppose the same can be said for DJ

Davis Love III 21 wins, 2 players   But DJ is threatening, as is the Players future elevation to major status

Their careers are actually quite similar...both are undisputed off-the-charts talented but s bit snake bitten in majors

I'll go with my grandfather's favorite golfer, Lloyd Mangrum. 36 PGA Tour wins and a US Open. This after spending a few years in the army because of World War II and storming the beaches of Normandy 75 years ago next week.

Most PGA Tour wins with just one major win

1. Lloyd Mangrum 36

2. Gene Littler 29

3. Johnny Farrell 22

T4. Davis love III 21

T4. Willie Macfarlane 21

T4. Lanny Wadkins 21

7. Dustin Johnson 20

8. Tom Kite 19

Weiskopf won 16 times on tour, 5 of those in one season 1973. Sure he had a bunch of seconds at augusta but he was never the best player on tour. He was fragile mentally and the bottle got to him at one point. Nicklaus,Watson Miller, Trevino, Floyd, had him beat even before he teed it up. DJ is clearly ahead of Weiskopf, its not close

Id have Wadkins above Kite.he had more firepower and volatility that put him in the mix at a bunch of majors. Always a threat to go low while kite was more consistent but never as much of a threat to snag a major away from someone.

It’s just my opinion....

His winning 4 times in 73 in 8 or 9 weeks was a brain breaker for me....

DJ will win multiple majors imho and is awesome....

But I’m older and remember my idols like Miller and Jack being in awe of his potential...

If Jack is awed by your game then it tends to bias...or Johnny (who obviously is my bff -see avatar)

But Weiskopf is the best (in my opinion only)....stats don’t prove it, but he was epic and it shocks me he only one a single major...

Again, it’s only my opinion and I realize he only had 15 or 16 wins(I don’t google typically on posts)

But he was a freaking boss...

Plus, Monty’s(who I also idolized) dad was secretary at Troon so this win biased me...

I think his putting is far too weak and he gets in his own head about putting. This year at the PGA he was an absolute beast with the irons, they were crisp and never looked like they were doing what he didnt want to do unless out of some thick rough. He kept the putter working for one and a half rounds and it just went south so fast it was sad, which tends to sneak up on him at the worst times (like the open he lost to Ells).

I say all that and am a massive fan of Scott. You give him nearly anyone elses putting and green mentality and he has a bunch more wins and majors.

Both had a major and a TPC.

Lanny's major line: 1 Win/ 4 2nds/ 4 3rds/ 11 top 5s/ 18 top 10s

Kite: 1 Win/ 4 2nds/ 1 3rd/ 15 top 5s/ 27 top 10s

Lanny leads in PGA Tour wins 21-19

Lanny had 1 win outside the US, Kite had 2

Both had 1 PGA POY Lanny in 1985, Kite in 1989

Kite led the money list twice and also won the Vardon Trophy twice, Lanny won neither

Lanny won the 1970 US Amateur

Kite was on The Simpsons

Bill Rogers. Interesting nominee. He may have been the best player in the world in 1981, but that's the limit of his credentials. Tway, basically a journeyman who won the '86 PGA. Corey Pavin rung every drop out of his talent, but never fit in the "best" category.

Fred Couples and Adam Scott - I'm a little biased since those are my two favorite swings ever.

Scott's back 9 at the 2012 Open was horrifying. Made up for it with one of the most underrated Masters finishes in 2013.

Mizuno ST190 10.5° - Diamana R Series 60
Titleist 915f 15° & 917f2 18° - Diamana 'ilima 80
Titleist 818H2 21° & TS3 25° - Nippon 950gh
Ping iBlades & Glide (5-P) - Nippon 1050gh
Vokey SM6 F 52° & SM7 D 58° - KBS Tour 115
Bettinardi Kuch2 or Inovai 6.0 CTR

He had that flash was very good, although to be fair speaking of 1 majors, at the time Duval got to No.1 spring to mid summer 1999, Tiger at that time had only 1 Major, his era of dominance really started later that summer when his first swing change really kicked in. Not sure about career stats, etc but if there was a tournament of guys with 1 major and all were in prime, I would think Weiskopf and DLIII would be my picks to win. They seemed to have the talent that should of vaulted them to more than 1 major win. Best swing with only 1 major? Elk
