Anyone played near Destin lately??

Headed down next week, played Windswept last year and enjoyed it. Staying in Seacrest, and looking for 1 round! Anyone been recently and have course conditions and recommendations? I believe regatta is under construction and on temporary greens if I’m not mistaken! Open for suggestions.. I heard Kelly was haveing some course condition issues etc.!

I'm heading down next week also, Don't know about course conditions yet. Emerald Bay was good last year planning on trying there again. Of course the best is going to be right beside you at Camp Creek but you will have to get someone to get you on. I may try to play there one day.

I played emerald bay yesterday, good condition but greens slow. I will play it again great deal at $50. I’m playing raven today and Indian bayou maybe tomorrow or next day

Raven was in good shape but I never think It’s as good as they think it is. $80 in afternoon. Planning on hitting Indian bayou tomorrow afternoon never played there. Possibly hit camp creek later in week

Kelly Plantation was in good shape last week.

I played Kelly’s yesterday and had a great experience. Course was in great shape and a great test. We played Camp Creek earlier in the week and it was really nice, but I’d prolly play Kelly’s again vs camp if I had to choose.

You guys should check out windswept dunes! A little inland but well worth the $$$! Ive never played KP but the guys I played with last week said it's comparable to KP and cheaper!

I'll second @lefty431 in that Windswept Dunes is a great track. I play there about once a week and the course is in great shape. Its usually pretty open in the afternoons, even on weekends. Often times I don't see anyone on the course until the turn when I play in the afternoon. It is very long from the tips if anyone dares to try it. I think it s around 7,700 yards from the back tees.

Windswept Dunes, Origins Golf Club, and Blackrock Golf Course are great options in the area if you like strategic golf courses without typical Florida water buffering each hole. Blackrock, especially, is a blast!

I assume they meant Blackstone in DeFuniak Springs

Never heard of black rock.

Definitely meant Blackstone - not sure how Blackrock even happened unless it was autocorrect. Blackstone is my favorite course down in the panhandle that way - I think it’s well worth the drive from Destin/30-A.

Rocky Bayou CC in Niceville is technically a private club, but they do make a few tee times available for outside play pretty much every day. Nice little "mom and pop" private club where the conditions are rapidly recovering after a nightmare winter.

Played Indian Bayou and Kelly Plantation this week. Both courses were in PERFECT condition. Best greens I've played on in the area since coming down each summer over the past 10 years!

I second Indian Bayou. Great course. Also a fan of Windswept Dunes and Camp Creek.

Indian Bayou always has great greens, and Kelly is right there with them. Windswept is a good choice as well. Regatta Bay will be something when they open their new green complexes in September, new #17 will bring allot of conversation.
