Yes, of course. But as far as I know only set:s in store, no custom order. We can’t order directly from TM like you can.

Came out loving the Project X LZ 120 6.0 with these heads. Really nice ball flight that has decent spin but event better descent angle for stopping on greens with the scoring clubs.

Uh oh. Do the Apex irons know yet?

1000 less than the original P790, or 1000 less than what you're currently gaming?

Another example to...Always get your loft and lies done! Custom club specs mean nothing, still gotta double and triple check them if you’re serious

My Udi 3 was stronger than my #2 p790. Once you get the specs right though, best driving irons

Like the guy but it’s getting very predictable. Swing full tilt and impress with big numbers is his go to. Unfortunate cause if he applied himself he could deliver awesome on course content. He’s got enough game for it. Simulator stars get boring fast so I hope he changes flow soon. He had on course testing for one video and it’s his best imo

Kind of tempting to make me go with a full set of these P790s instead of combo P760/790 and be able to go back to playing the high spinning Pro V1x that I love but has spun too much with my 919 Tours and AP2s. Think that'll help with spin issues and I can weaken the lofts to increase spin to more optimal numbers and then maybe I can bring the 7 iron carry to around 175-180 yards instead of 190+ that I get standard with Pro V1. Still afraid I'll just launch these to the moon though.

Do you think the 100 might be too soft if my 6i SS is 88-92?

Did you take note of the landing angle? To me, that should carry similar weight to spin comparison. I'm betting the p790 has the same landing angle, if not steeper, than your current 7 iron. I recently built a 2017 p790 6 iron just to compare to my Z-745 6 iron. Ball speed was 3 mph faster (obviously due to loft difference), and carry was 11 yards longer. Spin was 750 rpm's lower but the p790 had a higher peak height and had the same landing angle as my 745. On the course, I've not seen any difference in stopping power due to them coming down at the same angle. There's obviously a reason for concern with coming out of the rough and the general loss of distance control when you're talking 750 rpm's less spin. But I'm due for an iron upgrade (I'll never sell my 745's though) and I'm almost positive I'll end up going with the new version of the p790. Will likely take out 4 iron and add a wedge for gapping.

I don't know how that would work for you. For reference, my driver ss is in the 110-115 range and I have an aggressive transition. I don't think it would be too soft for me if I was smoother with it like the rest of my irons but as a driving iron, I went after it more. I personally get along better with shafts that have a stiffer tip for driving clubs. The PX Catalyst is a total winner for me in my driving iron.

Shaft question guys:

(Or TM folks if reading this thread:)

I currently play Nippon NS Pro 950s; They are an option for the regular P790s.

Nippon is updating the shaft with a new version, called, appropriately enough, the NEO.

NEO is stock in the P790 Ti.

Do we think TM will allow me to order the P790 with the NEO (I'll pay an up charge). It would be silly to me to buy new irons with shafts that are essentially being replaced,

There was a club pro in the PGA championship last year that had a full set. > @hankmoody said:

Probably. If it’s on option on one set it usually will be across the board. Just like grips.

I'm playing the same shafts as you. They are the cash cow for Nippon and I don't see them getting shelved any time soon. It would be like True Temper canceling the Dynamic Gold. The Neo is actually a softer tipped shaft than the 950GH. If the 950 works for you, there's no reason you would need to change unless you wanted to try something new.

I assumed the NEO would be the newer (and improved) version-- you know, like balls and clubs, higher, more distance :) . In all seriousness, improvements in metal tech (if that is even a thing)....I did see the softer tip (and thus higher ball flight for most).

LA was pretty good. I will check other stuff tomorrow when I go get fit and order one.

I have to agree. I love the look of them but the feel was lacking. Like you, I need to try them on grass.
