2019 Titleist T100 irons

Recommended Posts

Got to play 18 holes over the weekend with a set of T100’s with the stock AMT white s300 shafts in them. Loved everything about them, I currently game the 718 Ap2. They are the softest feeling and best sounding model they have produced so far ,as I have had every prior AP2 model. I would say a very slightly smaller profile at address, just a little less offset and definitely thinner top line. If your on the fence about these, definitely give them a try, I can’t wait to get these in ( I was told mid August for preorders that are custom), I will probably stick with my usual Modus 105 X, but really could play the AMT white as they seem to be just fine, with really no difference in distance or ball flight . Might also give the T200 a try, but I can’t imagine that they will be able to change my mind after seeing how fantastic the T100’s were.

I agree with most here. I know we all have different tastes, but I don’t know how anyone could consider these an improvement over the AP2’s. I feel exactly the same way about thw next gen CB’s (whatever they’re called). The 718 CB’s were as close to perfection as you can get in a players cavity back, in my opinion. It seems like Titleist is reaching a little with these new releases.

The post above yours said they look great at address and perform great.. isn’t that what it’s all about ?

If they feel better than AP2, have a slightly thinner topline and profile, and have the same forgiveness level then I'm sold. Have loved the 718 AP2 since release and have nothing bad to say about that iron other than it's a little spinny so the new changes are all great improvements to me. Recently bought 919 Tours to try out this summer but definitely looking forward to putting the T100's in the bag asap. Hoping the next release of T100 look better badge wise or just better in person since I still prefer the AP2 badging. Only thing I need to figure out before ordering is what to do with the 4 iron, to go with T200 or U500.

Precisely, if you already have AP2's etc... (or any brand of iron for that matter) and are completely happy with them, is there really any need to go on spouting negatives about the new models? Are you actually even in the market for new irons?

Just a general observation, but I can never understand why folk feel it necessary to disregard something totally, without having first seen them in person, or actually put them in to play.

It seems this day and age it is all about the irons being aesthetically pleasing, instead of the feel & performance being the main priority. Yes I agree, you need to be attracted to the club initially, that is after all a human trait. How they look sat in your bag is also important, especially if you take pride in your equipment, but when playing you are only looking down at the face, topline & hosel of an iron.

I would probably go with a different shaft in the U500, probably the same as my irons. Will most likely get the 2 iron U500 with graphite shaft though to replace my hybrid since I want something better from the tee that doesn't go miles in the air. Hoping there are decent stock options for that so it doesn't get super pricey. I currently have a 4 iron T-MB with ctaper since that's what the rest of the irons had in them and like that club a lot, but the new one should be even better.

My club pro had his fitting yesterday and will get his set in couple weeks. He said he really likes them.

I asked him to check with his rep and I got a quote. I thought about ordering a set but I think I will wait until I try out the fitting head.

Seen a video of a fitting today for the new lineup and it had some interesting info. It referenced MSRP for MB/CB/T100/T200 being $206.25 per club for steel and $221.87 for graphite. Also mentioned the T100 having a progressive toe making the COG wider heel to toe, offering noticeable forgiveness from his current gamer 718 AP2. He had all six models in hand for the video and managed to drop one of the clubs.

Agreed which is why I now own JPX 919 Tours. Tried strengthening the lofts in the AP2s by a degree and it helped but not enough. Hoping the newer design will bring it down some. Will be looking forward to testing these.

That sounds strange? 919 Tour definitely spin more than 718 AP2. My-golf-spy test for best Players iron 2019 confirms this as well. In their test a 5 and 7 iron spin about 200-300 rpm more than 718 AP2. For me the difference was about 500 rpm more with 919 Tour.

Not for me, 200-300 rpm less with Tours than AP2. AP2s launched consistently higher too so maybe that was why. But same results with several shafts I tested as well. JPX 919 Tours were identical with all numbers with TM p760 the other iron I tested.

It’s not like me to be on the fence about a Titleist release and I am in need of a change from my 714 AP2’s which are pretty bashed up now but based on looks I must admit that I am eyeing a set of 718 AP2’s over the T100’s.
