Hey man. I’m open minded. I tried to own a Taylormade set for Pete’s sakes. If that’s not open minded I don’t know what it. Dipping your toe in the devils pool and all.

He was supposed to shake his head at your lack of Ping history...but foiled again :)

U forgot some Zings and +

It would be shocking if they went away from their AWT2.0 (or 3.0) shaft.

Despite that, the “stock” shaft for most players is still going to be something easily ordered.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

> I do think these look a bit like "hacker's" wedges. I'm sure they'll work great for me and many others but quite a bit different than the Glide Forged (small blade).

I don't even know where to start with this one...

> It was hard to tell from the J.Wall post what the offset was on the 54 & 56 Eye2's. I really hope they got rid of all that offset that they had on the Eye2 XG and Gorge versions of the SW. The offset completely disrupts the way it plays from 60-100 yards.

I can't say about the sand wedges, but the lob wedges will definitely have the offset, it's a surprisingly integral part of the design. There's a cool video of Phil talking about why it's so important for the newer pm grind wedge on the Callaway site. When u lay the club open without offset the bounce forces the heel up and, in turn, the leading edge, making it easier to blade it, especially on flop shots but also out of the bunker.

That said, it does seem to make it harder to get ur hands in front of the ball on full swings, and it feels like they pop the ball up unless you really make a concerted effort.

I just ordered a 54* and 58* hi toe, as well as a 64* pm grind. Taylormade for the sand and lob wedges precisely because of the offset in the Callaway. I feel like the hi toe is closer to a normal muscle back flange wedge, especially in the lower lofts where the grooves are normal, as opposed to across the whole face, and the pm grind and the eye 2 sole are more specialty lob wedges, exclusively for around the green.

So that's my long-winded way of saying that I, too, am interested to see how much offset is in the sand wedge lofts.

Interesting....I hadn't thought of that. With both the Eye2 XG and Eye2 Gorge, the SW had a good bit of offset and the LW had almost no offset. I think the offset is helpful for sand shots and chips using the SW. The Eye2 Gorge SW keeps making its way back in to my bag though. It's just in that 60-100 yard range I find myself wanting to use a 56* and I feel like I'm fighting against the offset since my UW (i210) and LW (Eye2 Gorge) have basically no offset. We'll see. Even if it has the offset I'll probably end up ordering a 56 + 60 set the day they're available.

I’m hoping so their AWT shaft was surprisingly good

Wouldn't be too shocking right? In the last 10 years PING has been through the CS Lite, AWT, CFS and AWT 2.0 in their wedges. I'd actually say they are due for a change. Agreed I would be disappointed as I think the AWT 2.0 might be the best stock PING shaft since the Z-Z65.

AWT 2.0 wedge shaft was made by Nippon and is a great wedge shaft. Hope they at least keep it around as an option.

If they are bringing out a new ZZ wedge shaft it makes you wonder if they have a new ZZ iron shaft coming out soon. They had some tour staff playing ZZ65 + Cushin so wouldn't be surprised if they developed a new slightly heavier ZZ shaft. Just speculation.

interesting point, as I can’t help but think the iBlade replacement is right around the corner.

Though, Ping has been relying on OEM shafts versus their own design of late in iron releases.

> As long as there are some Glide 2.0s around for me to snatch up around Christmas to go with my Blueprints I hope to order soon I'll be OK.

They're starting to run out of stock in many lofts in preparation for the 3.0s. I wouldn't wait too long. By Christmas, you might be regulated to eBay.

I'm curious whether or not the offset is the same on all lofts or if it varies like the original? Personally I always thought the offset on the Glide ES was the perfect balance between the two. Hope that design characteristic stays the same, I do like the new/old shape.
