REVIEW Sense Putter Grip "It cured my putter grip HOing" - FairwayFred

@Drewll this is not a nitpick or intended to be snarky. Please review your web page for the S1. It seems the description maybe for the R 1.

“The S1 was designed to have the sides of the grip parallel to the putter face. The shortening of the dimension on one of the axes enables you to choose between 2 sizes.”

I think you probably meant “axis” not the wood cutting kind.

Well- yes. For the S1, we just shortened one of the "AXES" to make it a square instead of the R1 (rectangle to square).

The 22g weight from Stability Shaft will be in the way. So you just have to cut the carbon fiber rod of the SAW system to accommodate for the 22g of from Stability Shaft. Please PM me if you have any other questions.

You know I just realized I have the saw and can only use one putter at a time so I just need another grip... I'm not smart sometimes.

I put some solvent at the base and let it sit upside down. Gave it a twist. Did that again only pulled up while twisting. Removed R1 in ten minutes.

Not sure if it could get in between the shaft and this grip.

I think you are right, there is a hard ring at the base that could prevent it or crack.

This grip is amazing! Ordered it late last week and it arrived in just a couple of days. I went with the S1 kit which is perfectly square and it feels awesome! Ive always been an iomic guy, but the rubber on the sense grip is even better. Installing the grip and SAW were a breeze. I have the 20 gram right where my right hand goes on the putter. I might not that the packaging was as good as ive seen! Great product that will get very popular in my opinion.

If one were to buy the grips only without the SAW system, does the grip come with a plug for the end?

I was going to only order the grip and cap myself when I originally bought it. I am so glad I got the SAW system too. It takes a really, really good grip and makes it great! If you do buy just the grip, you do have to add a cap. Go all in, you wont regret it.

I have a couple different putters, Yes Nicky with a Pure big dog (oversize) model and a Yes Mollie with a Gravity Grip. I.e., both are larger than say a standard Ping pistol grip. In considering the Sense system, trying to determine if the R or S would be closer in size to what I'm used to. Logic suggests the R but hoping for other input. TIA!

The R1 would be comparable to the grips that you are currently using. Thank you for your interest!

I received my R1 order yesterday afternoon. As others noted, the packaging is very impressive. You're not buying a putter grip, you're buying a system. I really like the feel of the grip also. The Gravity Grip i have now i wrapped with Babolat tennis grip tape. I don't like the feel of the GG at all. I'm going to pull the GG and have the R1 installed and then we'll see. My biggest concern is whether a grip that's flat on 4 sides will jive for me. It didn't feel so foreign as to be a "no go" out of the box anyway so I'm eager to install and test it out.

I should have included in my comment the other day thank you to Drew for responding, and also to my personal message. I had my R1 installed yesterday. Def the right choice, it's actually smaller than what I'm accustomed lately but the size isn't an issue. The texture again feels fantastic as others have written before. It will be if the shape doesn't weird me out but I like how it sets up. I've got it with the 20 under my right hand.

The funny part was getting it installed. Pays to be semi-regular I guess where the guys in the shop know you. I visit our Dick's which converted from Golfsmith last year or so. I took the kit minus the SAW system yesterday afternoon. They were unable to save my Gravity Grip (ouch) but when I broke out the Sense for install AND the level, that got their attention, lol. I had to explain to Pete we needed to vise it with the face up. So he and the guy there did it like the video shows. I mentioned they'd have to charge double for the install. When he put on the grip and eyed it, he said "perfect" then did the level. Followed by celebratory confirmation lol. Both guys then gave it a look, and were intrigued. What made it even better, a woman who's just started (has only been to driving range twice) was getting a used set of clubs regripped. She was bemused by my trying to save the gravity grip and that I'd paid more for the Sense than she had for her used irons loIl. It was all in good fun, but I pointed to the golftec set-up right beside us and strongly recommended she get some lessons. The 4 of us had a good conversation during the whole install and when we finished, Pete shook my hand and said have a nice weekend. It was probably no more than $10 for removal and install. But he sent me on my way. Pretty cool. Now tomorrow is the big day, playing 18. We'll see if I'm back to GG Monday for a new pro only model ha ha (I think the R1 is a real keeper).
