he plays a button back putter. Which I thought was maybe the softest putter I have ever tried. Great for those super fast tour greens.

Everyone has a different opinion of how to describe the feel of a putter compared to other putters. When I think of a teryllium insert, I think of great feedback and a solid/crisp feel.

All I can say is close your eyes sometime when your trying a new putter for the first couple of months of use. If you can't tell how far the ball is going to roll based on the feel, it's likely too soft for you.

That being said, I still couldn't make a 4 footer this weekend, so what do I know.

Most (really nearly all) of the newer SCs utilize the “deep milling” across the face whereas virtually none of the older lines do at all. You’ll occasionally see older Tei3 that have been refinished (typically not by the Custom Shop) and the insert has been deep milled. It’s probably the one thing I don’t like about this new line, unfortunately. I’m curious if that will end up making it TOO soft in terms of feel/sound.

 

I have a tracking number for my WWGS order but I wonder if it will actually ship today/soon, or if it’s just been allocated for when they actually arrive.

One thing that I'm confident everyone has thought of, but has gone unmentioned, is that the originals were also significantly lighter than todays heads. I rolled my original Newport quite a bit this weekend and, while it sounds a bit firmer than my GSS Byron DH89, SS DH89 (beached), and Miura 009, the distance was somewhat disproportionate to the sound just based on those 3 being 350g heads.

 

Looking forward to seeing how these roll for sure.

Well I shipped my Nike 006 proto today to a good home. I really hope either the Newport or Newport 2 works out for me the same or better than the 006 which I loved.

Seller is me. They feel great, I am using the NP2. I got a matador coming for it. I got bigger hands and choke a pistol grip. Really looking to trade the newport is possible. In a panic to get one I over ordered.

Mine came today, looks and feels great, it is a 35 NP2, very similar in sound and feel to my black deep milled Notchback that was just redone at scotty’s lab. I prefer the single bend or maybe long neck but couldn’t pass this up for the memories. I should have two based on multiple orders to try to get one, if someone wants one or can help me get one of these shafts in one of these, please let me know

No, but I ordered one from Carl's and one from Puetz and have gotten no updates on either.

 

I actually called Carl's -- apparently they don't even have their supply in yet, and said it would be "against Titleist policy" to ship them out this far before the 16th (release date).

 

When I mentioned other companies already had, he said "they shouldn't be doing that."

 

I wonder if Titleist is sending them to "priority" retailers first?

 

I'm envious I haven't gotten mine yet while others have. Oh well...

Yeah but they started with 33 on the list from day one and removed it sometime mid july. Well before the announcement that pre orders started but after many people/stores/reps were thinking theyd already had them locked....including me...

I have a NP2 in 33" on order through our club pro and my LGS where i usually buy all my clubs. They were online at first and do exist but I'm sure their numbers were most limited and were out quick.

I ordered my FB from Carl's as well and I have received no updates as of yet. Didn't really expect to either since putters don't release until the 16th but seeing as others have gotten theirs I'm starting to freak that something with my order is hosed up.

They are sold out everywhere I looked, they were released as pre-orders so most places sold theirs. Probably need to wait til the 16th to see if anyone didn’t list/sell theirs

I'm gonna sell the head cover when it gets in. I don't want any wandering eyes on my gear. I am going to put a custom throwback Scotty cover on it instead. How much you think someone will pay for the new cover on eBay? I figure someone will get hammered drunk and drop the cover to their new T22 Scotty on the course or parking lot by September 1st and then will scramble to eBay to replace before their new precious gets a ding. I was thinking $200 on eBay till it sells. I won't use it.
