Tourstriker Planemate

I'm really interested in this aid, but rather than being too steep I'm too flat, shallow, would this aid help correct people who are already overly shallow?

not difficult to create something very similar. large metal loop from your belt buckle, resistance band from loop to club. difficulty is securing it on the club so it doesnt slip, but some sort of clamp would probably do.

Yes, the part where the tube is connected to the shaft is the part I'm really referring to. Simple to connect it to your body... a bit more challenging to create a very sturdy but light clamp. I don't think putting it in a really tight knot would work.

plenty to choose from https://www.amazon.co.uk/10mm-clamp/s?k=10mm+clamp

a rubber lined p clamp would work well

I’d don’t look at this as purely a learn how to shallow aid. Shallowing is a buzz word and while it certainly does help with that feel, to me it’s more about the swing structure and sequencing. My swing gets long, wild and steep. Been a huge help in that regard and feeling what a real pivot should feel like. I’m an 8 index, it’s helped me but I would use this to teach my wife how to golf.

My index has gone from 8.9 where I plateaued for 2 years to 7.5 trend over the last 1.5 mos since the first batch was sent out.

I don’t know why people are willing to spend 1k on a driver, but refuse to pay people $170 for their innovation and idea that they brought to market, paid for to create, market, have website, and way more... rather than being cheap and trying to create your own, which could be proprietary infringement

Truth be told I did this to a club years before Martin came out with the tour striker club to address my inside takeaway and I’m not the only one. I struggle with inside takeaway years later. I never really thought about it for shallowing so or the belt part??‍♂️

Anyway, I chatted with Martin several times via email and when he was a member here. Not that he would condone stealing his ideas but in the past he has told people on this site how he got the idea and where he got his components for his prototypes. Imo he wants to help golfers and if you truly don’t have the money to designate to one of his products I really don’t think he would care that he lost $10 because made one for yourself.

Proprietary infringement for someone making a DIY version, lol!

It wont be long before you can buy knock off Chinese versions from ebay and amazon. They make their version of the Tour Striker ball already.

Generally a non-issue to replicate something for personal use only

For training aids like this is anyone concerned that there’s the potential to miss use them? I’ve seen iTeach post some videos of his guys using this but I’d kind of be concerned that I might, by a misunderstanding, miss-use or ineffectively use unless supervised.

Well it's pretty simple really, not everyone has $170 for a training aid or a driver, not everyone can source the training aid, some people just like messing around trying to create things, and probably enjoy doing this more than they do using the aid.

But hey if you want to buy one for me then I'd be happy to send you my shipping address :-)

Yes. That’s the whole point. You swing it and feel tension on the band. If you suck it inside, the band will be all floppy, and have no tension. Instant feedback. Perfect aid for all swing types.

Mine came in today. Won’t be able to use it until tomorrow though. One benefit of living an hour away from the facility lol.

Think he means on the downswing. Since it promotes shallowing on the downswing will it help someone that shallows to much on downswing or getting stuck
