Never gone "raw" with wedges and I think it is time to give that a go, why the heck not.

February 11 is the pre order date. I am around Vancouver BC area and can go through golftown (use gift cards) which can go through wedgeworks to get your custom wedge. Ordering a new 56.10 in black stamped tomorrow!!!!

I went to a couple of sites that have the SM8's up for pre-sale this morning, and raw is not an option on any of them......... Just tour chrome, brushed steel and black.

Apparently raw will be Wedgeworks only, after all. I hope I am wrong.

From what I understand raw can be ordered through any retail account at no up charge. It is not available “off the shelf”. I’m hoping this is the case.

How does Vokey handle swing weighting? For example, if you order with a custom shaft (i.e. Project X) and a Midsized grip, I assume that will change swing weight? Do they automatically bring it back to standard? The swing weight configuration is somewhat confusing.

Just ordered my SM8 wedges. Went Brushed Steel...difficult decision but I think I will like them. Hope they come earlier than March 7th.

Can't believe we still have to pay for most grip options and so many shafts on WW with a $200 wedge that's $15 more than any other finish. But as long as people will pay they will keep doing it.

Anybody been able to order thorough a retail shop for the raw. Wedgeworks includes all the customization that’s what they are including in that price. I am wondering if raw can be ordered with $15 on top of retail price with no customization

Any rational person has to wonder when Vokey and other proponents were introducing SM7 irons, they said something different. Higher (in-fractions) on the face in-conjunction with hosel weight meant greater distance control. Now, it means problems????

Makes me wonder how much of this advertising rhetoric is expected to overwhelm the generally naive retail buyer that doesn't recall what he heard the year before. We know a great deal of people only know what they read or hear via OEM advertising, and OEM's work at controlling retail buying patterns.

I see exactly the same thing. Wedgeworks is $184 + $15 for raw.

At a retailer, I was quoted $159 for standard, and + $30 for raw, too. Might as well get the Wedgeworks personalized for extra $10...

Most medical professionals or people familiar with physiology know hand "FEEL" is controlled by nerve endings in the top layer of skin (epidermis) called touch receptors that respond to light touch, stretching, hot&cold, pressure, vibration, etc. 
The reason many surgeons wear two gloves when golfing to protect nerve endings for delicate surgical procedures. Without them, we can't feel squat.  To that point, people that utilize their hands at work experience dead receptors that impair their ability to feel club-head vibration up the shaft.  Therefore, trusting your sample test group is faulty.
Raw surface is a bit rougher than chrome but at impact feels similar to forged 1018/1020. If an OEM picked the right people to test, they could effectively control the test outcome.  Likewise, the reason I don't buy the banter that cast = forged argument, but that's for another time. Oh, Tour Issue is real and in many cases, means prototype.
