Off the fitting cart, I hit the 105s in R flex with the 7 iron only. It was a close choice for me between those and the Recoil 95s I ended up going with. I picked the Recoils only because I've got wrist issues and I thought graphite with some dampening might be better for me in the long run. Can't comment much on the comparison of the two except that the Modus' felt more responsive. This is probably a general difference of steel vs graphite.

I have a set of MP-32s that I'm planning on putting Modus 105s in and keeping as a less forgiving practice set, or when I just want a change of pace. Very curious how they'll compare to the Recoil 95s after a more extended trial across a full set.

With the temps starting to drop I've now played a few rounds with the HMBs in the 40s and 50s. Even with the Recoil 95s, I've had some harsh responses from thinned shots. Like, uncomfortable shocking vibrations through my hands and up my arms. I've also started to experience that awesome 'crack' of a properly compressed strike in the middle of the club face.

At first, the HMBs seemed closer to the 712 AP1s I was playing than the MP-32s I've also played here and there. That is, more GI than "player's". But I'm realizing that poor strikes can still feel like hell even if you're getting a decent result. And on the other side, well struck hits feel awesome, though not quite as solid or hard as the MP-32s with DG S300s.

moved to HMBs from older Titleist 712 AP1s and gained +-10 yards on each club. I got standard lofts and the gapping works pretty well across the whole set from 4-P. I need to spend some more time with them on a launch monitor to get a better idea of any bunching, but it should be easily solved by adjusting lofts if needs be.

Precisely I mean how dumb you go after lefty blade players so 10% of the 10% of golfers or 1% of total. MMC much smarter choice

I moved to the HMBs from the i500s...my thoughts

- HMBs are not as long by 5-8 yds

- HMB distance control is much better than i500

- Long iron confidence is great with the HMBs vs i500s but I loved the i500 look 7-PW (sleek)

- The finish on the HMBs looks (my opinion) and holds up significantly better

- Feel...not even close...HMBs

i flop between hmb and hmp. playing the pros now, as the the hmb feels a little better but when both stuck in the middle, i cannot tell any difference. and my hmp flies about 5 yards farther (even with hmb lofted 1 strong) because hmp is 2 stronger to start with. also i feel a bit more confident with hmp - although looking down i really cannot see a difference either.

Thank you for this response. Part of me likes this and it partially makes me nervous. The 9 iron to 8 iron gap is pretty large. I will be taking mine out for first run on Friday

gotta say, the HMB 4 iron has become my favorite club. I stopped carrying fairway woods or hybrids so I have more opportunities to use it. Eventually a 3 and/or 5 wood will go back in the bag, as I can get the 4i to roughly 200, but for now I don't mind leaving it short now and then. My misses with it (hooks mostly) aren't as bad as with fw's and hybrids, so that's another plus.

Or maybe adding the 3i is the move :)

> @eastriver how do you like the T20s. I am going to go purchase a couple tomorrow

still getting used to them as I played Vokeys with stock shafts for years. The Recoil 95 F3s I have in the T20s (to match the rest of the set) are different enough to make me overthink things.

but as a whole, I'm enjoying them and getting more confident over them every day. I see absolutely no reason not to get them. LOVE the blue, btw. And enjoy having a full Mizuno bag. What sold me on them was the shaft choices with no upcharge. I've wanted to match the shafts on my wedges with the rest of my set for a while, now, so going with the T20s makes perfect sense.

I have zero buyers remorse EXCEPT that I'm still not sure I made the right move in switching from a 52 to a 50 (to have 4* gapping from P-50-54-58) I may have the 50 bent 1 or 2 weak after I spend some time on a simulator over the winter. I have not been playing the 54 much, and the 58 makes a fine lob wedge that's a little easier to play full shots on than the 60* Vokey I had.

My distances were based on hitting in the PGA SS hitting bays - I'm expecting yardage to vary as I get more on-course data and feedback. That gap scared me too so time will tell.

actually really like the LZ..but i don't think it's the best for blades/like clubs. takes feel away

Well it looks like Mizuno is still having issues, after I went to get mine At the beginning of last week they came with the wrong shafts, I was assured later they would priority air them so they would come by the end of this week. Got a call today and the store said the shafts are now back ordered and it’s going to be another 2 weeks.

Meanwhile the wedges I ordered when I went to pick up the clubs will be here sooner despite coming with the same shafts as my irons...

I played those for some time and would say the wear is good. About a years play and they are still pretty black, although it is getting a bit thin in spots.

Ordered 10/19 mixed set 4&5 HMB 6-pw MB w/ C Taper lite S and still no word they've even shipped. ClubChampion (OEM order) keeps telling me they're extremely backordered but also told me no more than 2 weeks. Guess what, today's 2 weeks and I have 2 tee times this weekend I'd love to break them in before daylights savings kicks in. Ugh

Guess they clearly weren’t expecting this big of a hit. I was mulling over the raw for the t20’s but the blue ion looks too good. Looks better then my old S5’s
