Spieth must've missed a few meetings these past couple years. Other than Duval it's hard to find someone that's fallen off so dramatically unless something unforeseen like an injury occurs of course.

Edit: Obviously Duval's fall was bigger and faster before someone jumps on me for that remark..

MOVING IN the Top 125

Patton Kizzire 129>>>>117

Andrew Landry 132>>>>120

Austin Cook 126>>>>124

Shawn Stefani 134>>>>125

all four have made the cut and play tomorrow

MOVING OUT

Sebastian Munoz 123>>>>126 (made the cut)

Pat Perez 122>>>>127 (missed cut)

Robert Streb 123>>>>128 (missed cut)

Alex Noren 125>>>>129 (made cut)

The last MDF seems to have no effect on the FedEX Cup standings. No one was near one of the cut lines.

There is now one major complication for those near the Top 125 cut line, Viktor Hovland. He is only three off the lead and if he wins tomorrow all the players below him in the FedEX Cup standings would move down a spot when his points become official.

For Hovland to avoid the Korn Ferry Playoffs, he must win, finish second alone or in a tie for second with just one other golfer.

I'd personally be sad if Hovland ends up on the Korn Ferry Tour next year. The low amateur at both the Masters and the US Open almost deserves to be on the Tour. It would be a shame if he can't cash in this week or the last few weekends like Colin or Matthew when the field has been soft because of majors before, same week or after.

If Hovland doesn't get his card tomorrow he can still earn it in the Korn Ferry playoffs, which he is eligible for, that awards 25 PGA Tour cards.

Slightly off-topic, but I can see Spieth being out of the top 50 in the world by the end of the season if he doesn't find some consistency with his game. I know he's still getting points from the 2017 season where he had 4 straight top 10's in the playoffs. But once that goes away and he doesn't find any game, his OWGR will tank. I don't think anyone in August of 2017 would've thought in 2 years Tiger would be ranked 5th in world and the Masters champion and Spieth would be 37th and missing the 54 hole cut at the Wyndham.

No certainties but if he doesn't get his card tomorrow he'll be one of the favourites in Korn Ferry playoffs and I'd expect him to get it even if he has to play those events.

Needs to finish in a two-way tie for second or better. Hovland led the field in three Strokes Gained categories – Off The Tee, Approach The Green and Total – on Saturday. Through three rounds, he ranks first in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee and second in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green. He’s also first in driving distance and proximity to the hole. - Source: PGATour.com

ends up with 135 for 4th place alone ... 308 ... so he gets into the KF finals ... looks like they start 8/15, so he gets a bit of a rest with some nice cash from his pga play ... guessing he made around 300th for this tournament ... not a bad 2 months for the guy ...

We had two players move in and out of the Top 125

MOVING IN

Patton Kizzire 129>>>>118

Andrew Landry 132>>>>123

Sebastin Munoz hangs on as #124 and Pat Perez, despite a MC, finished at #125

MOVING OUT

Robert Streb 124>>>>128

Alex Noren 125>>>>129

Richy Werenski at #126 and Shawn Stefani at #127 miss out on the Top 125 by a single stroke.

Johnson Wagner, Josh Teater and Harris English moved into the Top 150 for conditional status next season.

Johnathan Byrd, Stephen Jaeger and Scott Langley fell out of the Top 150.

There was no movement in or out of the Top 200.

Yes the Korn Ferry regualr season finale where the Top 25 get cards is in Portland next week.

The Korn Ferry Playoffs start the next week and finish the week after the FedEx Cup Playoffs to determine the other 25 card holders.

Based on his current form I imagine Hovland could very likely repeat what Dechambeau did in 2016 and win one of the KF tournaments (it was called the Web back then) to secure his card. The top $ winner in the KF Finals also gets a full exemption on the PGA including the Players so he wouldn't have to worry about the priority list reshuffles like most of the other graduates.

So have the playoffs started ? Or is it over ? Today was pretty ..... I don’t want to say boring. But I watched the past 3 holes wanting it to hurry up and end so I could say it was over.

Jokes aside. Serious statement. I think the above is the issue. It may be good for the tour long term. But it’s really a buzz kill for a fan who likes to see dominance week in and out. As in , if everyone’s great then really nobody is great.
