yeah dimples look like avx but at the same time, lot of pros sticking with older balls because they dont like the drop off in spin (not an assumption, been talking with some of my friends on tour), not sure if anyones noticed but theres been a shift of players moving from prov1 to prov1x for more spin

That would be awesome. I tried the AVX and liked the results but I couldn't stand how soft it was. This could be really good if that's what it is.

Yep, me too. Only it is all golf balls with red numbers.

To me the AVX is the perfect ball, especially in the cooler months. If Titleist is tweaking the AVX, I hope it’s an addition to the line and not a replacement.

Not really a “shift” since the Pro V1x has been the most used Titleist ball on the PGA Tour for the past bunch of years. The percentage of X users is actually shrinking slightly because Pro V1 is nearly as long and spinny as the X and offers softer feel some players like.

Those of us on the Titleist trip hit a prototype ball that could very well be this one and it was not an AVX replacement.

I'd agree with this. There's no spin around the green with the AVX, its made to rollout or stop on wedge shots.

Love everything about AVX, but it’s absolutely unplayable with driver if you swing above 100Mph.

That's exactly what some pros want - a ball that hits and checks, not hit and spin back. Back pins are impossible to get at for some high spin players. I'm surprised that there's not one pro out there that is looking for enough of a reduction in spin that they game the AVX. Well, I'm not THAT surprised, but mildly surprised there's not somebody.

I had no issues stopping the AVX on wedge shots. It's the technique not the ball.

It takes 1 second to know theres not enough spin around the greens for the pros...i would go far to say no one seriously tried it...because some titleist rep told them it was not for them....

Do you play on greens that run 12-13 on the Stimp meter?

This is not correct. I swing around 115 and have several friends that swing above 100 and we've had no problem playing it.
