Seniors - What do you do to stay limber and flexible?

Recommended Posts

Recently started swinging one of those flexible weighted clubs, started walking 2.5 miles a day and a few exercises every day seems to help me stay flexible and limber. What do you guys/gals do?

I try to put on my socks by myself.

I suppose that my 24 year old girlfriend might have something to do with it.

Pushing on 70 and I still do a series of weight exercises and cardio workouts at the gym 3-5 times per week. Combined they help me stay flexible and strong which is the reason I still have some distance and play long irons. It has to be part of your lifestyle, though, otherwise, you'll eventually quit on yourself.

30 minutes cardio on bike and treadmill, left ankle injury no longer allows elliptical or running.

Core exercises from chiropractor - dead bugs, glute bridges, floor planks, side bridges, thoracic rotations, hamstring stretch with band and arm/leg extension (Paige Sparanic was the source of that one).

Roller exercises also from chiropractor - IT band, front of leg, hip, hamstring and back roll.

Few miscellaneous stretches thrown in at various points.

One hour 15 minutes or so.
