FWIW, I have always loved your WITB. Mix of old and new.. The SM 2's are the best wedges ever in my opinion, how you have some with good grooves on them I don't know.......?

I've got an old SS Eye2 I hit shots with in the back yard...as much as I want to like the design the traditional looking wedge just gives me better contact...and I don't mind offset, as I play the G's.

that being said I love my Glide Stealth wedges, I really like the black look, I am holding off till I wear these out some and hope they bring out a Stealth 3.0 version.

Well, I guess I drank the kool aid. I really like the 2.0 stealth 50SS, 54SS and 58ES. A regular playing partner asked to hit the 54SS and fell in love. We made a deal and I now have a 3.0 54 Eye2 and 60 Eye2 on the way.

It’s interesting to me that I do not like the look of irons with a lot of offset, but really enjoyed the 58ES so much I had to have the new Eye2 wedges. Funny, now I wish they’d bring out a next gen Eye2 set. I’d have to have them in the bag.

I picked up the eye 2 model at the range for a quick test, no previous experience of ping wedges. OMG! I’m heading to the pro shop tomorrow to purchase one, two possibly three new wedges. Goodbye vokeys!

I picked up a 50ss to use as my gap wedge (my irons are i200s) after seeing the 'wet wedge video' and i love it. it is really easy to hit and it has a ton of spin.

Now this has me wondering if I should be considering an Eye2 sole for around the greens and out of the sand. I have a bunch of different wedges that float in and out of my bag for this purpose currently, all Vokeys. (a 60K, 58m, 56f) and if i could add a secret weapon around the greens i could look past that funny high toe.

Can anyone share how the Eye2 sole performs in longer grass around the green and in reasonably decent sand traps? the bunkers at my course are pretty good. Definitely not hardpan.

thx

David

They look beautiful.

I’ve been so happy with the 50SS that I grabbed the 58 Eye2. The Eye2 will take a little getting used to but it’s great out of the sand and around the green.

Shooting the 50 on the weekend after a morning rain in wet conditions, the ball played like it was bone dry. Impressive.

In fact, like them enough that a 54 SS followed me home tonight. :-)

So I will be playing all Glide 3.0 wedges next year.

I’m an official SM7 converter. Just picked these up with the stock Z-Z115 shafts and I don’t think I’ve ever had a wedge spin as much on full and partial shots as these. More forgiving too and feel great off the face, was surprised after the fit that the stock shaft was best for me after coming from SM7s with the DG S200s. Really solid wedges cs437foy3um3.jpeg

I have both of those, the 50 and 54. This is my third attempt at trying to fit a 54 into my bag, as i really prefer a 50 to a 52 as a full(ish) shot gap wedge, but have typically not been able to have a 50 work around the green as a chipping club as it hasn't had enough spin. I'm finding the Glide 50 fits the bill here, so a 54 becomes a nice gap between this and the 58 Eye2.

My last two 54's just didn't work for me. A gorge with too soft a shaft and a Vokey 54m that just didn't have enough bounce for my game, so i am excited to try this one out

I will be making the switch from SM7 next spring, that's for sure! Doesn't make much sense for me to purchase now in Michigan since I will have a good five months of 95% hitting off the mats and simulators until at least April.

These don’t feel light to me. I ordered them with the Nippon ZZ115 shaft and they feel very balanced. I actually like the feel better than the 2.0 Stealth’s I had with DG 115 wedge shafts.

The 54* came in at D3 and the 60* at D4, so SW is good.

I didn't think they felt light and I was impressed with their distance and flight consistency on miss-hits.

Agreed. I was coming from my SM7 with DG S200's which arent the lightest of shafts and the Z-Z115 is about 10g lighter and felt that it complemented the wedge very well. As @GolfChannel mentioned amazed at how good the wedge is on mishits

Playing with the wife I hit a full shot with the 50

I said “I’m short, I missed it.”

She said “shut up you’re on the green.”

I like these

I prefer the look of the 2.0’s, but while they looked like my iBlades we didn’t get on with one another like my iBlades. I hated the look of these, because I detest the i210’s, subsequently hit them and fell in love with their performance.

I love being humbled, never take anything at face value, and always get fit.

I hear you. Played a round with them this afternoon. I have cycled a lot of Vokeys through my bag but it’s been a long time since I felt I could throw darts with my wedges like I was today.

My wife knows a lot of clubs can circulate in and out of my bag and she never remarks. But today she was saying “are those new wedges?”

I think I’ll be buying her a set.

No question these are easy to hit and are very forgiving if I’m off just a touch. A huge confidence builder. I’m sold.

Just to add on here, other than the 58 eye2 sole, I didn’t really think that I was buying “forgiving” wedges, or that I needed forgiveness in my wedges. I liked the look, needed a 50 gap wedge, I was impressed by the water test, and I thought they matched well with my i200s.

This just shows how little I know about my own game. These wedges are spiny and workable, but the biggest benefit to me by far is the fact that they are forgiving.

Funny, I didn’t consider that the cavity would help me. It was obvious in the first round I played. I didnt hit my Vokeys badly, mind you, and they are great wedges (I should know, I have 6 of them) but for my game, it was clear almost right away on the course, where I don’t have perfect range conditions, that the Glide 3.0s are more forgiving and this translates into strokes.
