Best modern single brand bag setup....

I’m a Titleist guy with everything but the putter. Call me crazy but I just don’t like Scotty Camerons. That said I’ve got two 60’s era John Reuter Jr. Bullseyes that go in the bag occasionally.

Im pretty close to a full Callaway set-up short of my wedges which are Cleveland’s.

 

I learned recently not to be bias if I want what’s best for my game or gives me the most enjoyment. Case in point, my Callys 18mb kicked out my Mizuno MP18mb and before that I was a Mizuno player.

EPON. Great offerings throughout the lineup, equipment for all handicaps, and top-notch quality/materials. That would be a tough bag to beat.

With the Blueprints, Ping now looks to have something for everyone, they'd have to be at the top. I would put Srixon/Cleveland up there, also, along with Mizuno, if one doesn't mind looking the older TP Mills or Bettinardi putter partnerships. TaylorMade is a good option, and Wilson Staff is worthy once again. though I'm not personally fond of them, Callaway has to get in there.

 

Haven't seen them mentioned yet, but Tour Edge is another nice choice.

 

My personal favorite is Ram. I've used an all Ram bag from time to time, with Golden Ram persimmons and Tour Grind iron sets, with Tom Watson wedges and a Golden Ram 8802-alike putter. Not particularly viable if you don't want to play persimmons and blades, though. ;)

I've had an all-Ping bag for the last 4 years, including the bag(s) (Traverse and DLX), but I've just swapped everything except the putter (and bags) to the new Honma TW747 line. Purely by accident actually -- needed G series 3w replacement and while in golftown decided to try the Honma driver. They only had a stiff (I was gaming a senior shaft) and after hitting on the launch monitor along with the Titleist and Ping drivers, I was sold -- tighter dispersion than the G and a few more yards rollout. And the top finish ... my God! Remember that stunning pearlescent grey of the Titelist 983K? The Honma TW has that in black. Much better to look at at address than the new Titelist drivers that look like a mirror. Didn't even bother swinging the irons ... they are stunning and, being much closer to 70 than I like to admit, I appreciate the stronger lofts on the irons that puts them about 2-3 degrees stronger than the ping i200's I traded in.

 

When I was a sprite learning the game back in the early 60s, my neighbour had what I thought were the most beautiful set of clubs ... a full bag (3 woods, 10 irons from 2-SW) from Wilson Staff. That was back when the pro shop had the bag of Titleist clubs that everyone oooh'd and aahh'd over, but could never afford (a sleeve of Titleist balls, after all, were $3.75 back then, when Maxfli's were a doxen for $6. What a bonus day when we found a Titleist in the woods! He let me use them days he wsn;t going golfing. Loved that 2 iron, and regret sets no longer offer that as a standard option. But I digress.)

 

I have loved Wilson since then, and even got to own a set of Deep Red IIs early in the 2000s for a few years. I'd like to think I could consider building a bag of Wilson Staff clubs, but its been years and I am really not up on Wilson anymore. All that said, I could do a bag only of Pings or Titleist. Other than finishes really not much difference. I am also enamoured with the Mizuno and would try doing a bag of those too. Already have MP4s sitting in the garage and their driver was (when I tested it) just as tight in dispersion as the honma is today. Even like the mizuno blue look.

If you take putter out of the equation I would go with Cobra. After numerous trackman fittings, their clubs continually shine for me. If putter has to be included then it's hard to argue Titleist.

I vote Titleist....If I could I think I would bag their clubs from Driver to putter.

Cobra. May be the honeymoon phase but cb/mb set has been a game changer for me. Playing F8 3 wood and F9 5 wood which is like cheating with the rails. Even their wedges which seem to get no love around here are nice. Only clubs I'm not playing from them right now is my g400 max and the hi toe lob.

My entire bag is titleist but seriously, you cannot go wrong with any of the major brands today. The engineers and designers have all hopped around so much between companies that it’s a pretty even playing field.

Ping. The g400 max driver is amazing. Fairway woods and hybrids are very solid and irons are some of the best. Wedges preform great and you can find a putter from ping no matter what shape, size you want. Throw in a ping bag and your done

Titleist, Callaway and TM are all viable options now. Titleist and Callaway i’d Push higher due to their wedge and putter game but that’s because I’m familiar with their products. Mac Daddies and Vokeys are a go to, can’t say I feel that way about TM’s wedge line up but they get the job done clearly.

 

Same kind of feel with the putter, only really the spider that stands out to me and I’m not a mallet Guy.
