New Graphite Design Tour AD XC shafts - August 2019

Currently have both shafts in 7X, and since putting the XC in play, haven't switched it out yet. Main reason, is that I like the launch better of the XC. Feels like it has more pop to it, getting more distance. It also has the ability to let me see the little natural fade that I have. I've grown accustomed to that, so the Ventus just made it a little to unpredictable. Can pull shots too easily with the Ventus, probably just a swing flaw, but it doesn't really happen with the XC.

What differences are you seeing between the XC vs the IZ?

I've been testing the Ventus Black 70X versus the XC in 7X, and the Ventus has been the better performer for me. I'm getting a little more ball speed and I feel that I'm more consistent with it than the XC, but I'm planning to hango on to the XC at least for a while, and I'll probably play rounds with both of them early in the season. The XC does seem to be the lower launching of the two, so I'm thinking it might be a good option for windy days.

Ok so, for me at least, I look at ball flight the most. The IZ was going WAY too far right. I literally couldn't control it, which was sad because I got a lot of distance out of it. The XC brought my dispersion much tighter, can still hit the baby fade, and don't push fade nearly as much (unless it's a bad swing). The feel of the XC is more smooth in my opinion as well. The XC feels close to the Ventus in the fact that it's like a "point, aim, and shoot" type of shaft.

Also, for whatever reason, my launch angle actually increased switching from the IZ to the XC and Ventus.

For me the XC flies a little higher than the BB and the IZ flies a lower than the DI. I could game either one. The XC has little tighter dispersion but it was harder for me to get the ball to cut.

Has anyone compared the 7x to the 7tx. Just trying to make a decision on a shaft for a M5 rocket 3 wood. Just wondering if there is a huge loss of feel going to the tx or if the extra stability would be welcomed in the fairway wood.

After about 5 sessions of range testing, I thought I was going to be playing the Ventus Black 7X this year, but after golf was allowed to resume in my state, I played my first round in about 6 weeks, and didn't get great results with it on the course. The round could basically be divided into thirds -- first 6 holes, I missed everything left, then I kept it in the fairway for the next 6, and then missed everything right for the rest of the round (until a straight pull on the last hole). I'm sure my swing after a month and a half layoff where I'd only hit into a net a few times during that time, wasn't going to give great results, but I never like to see a two-way miss, so for my next round, I put the AD XC in play, and after two rounds with it now, I'm thinking this may be what I go with. So far, it seems like my misses are smaller, and I'm not afraid if it going left. The misses I've seen are when I expect a fade and it goes straight, and my standard push fade miss to the right. Most of them have been playable, which is way better than what I was seeing with the Ventus. A larger sample is required, but I'm up to about 25 tee shots on the course with it, and I like what I've seen so far.

I’m down to the Xc 6x and TZ6 M5, the XC seems softer... anymore straight comparisons with these two?

Anyone try the XC with a mere Stiff model? I liked the BB but want to try the XC and swing speed is only high 90s.

I tested the XC 6s and it’s a lot like the BB , but with better feel imo.

Shaft has me a little intrigued, anyone game this thing , around 116 ss ish ~ , hard transition?

I was fitted for it and I'm playing it in a Mavrik 15* sub zero. SS about 112-115 with a quick transition and lots of lag. Love the feel, smooth without feeling loose. Nice high flat trajectory with great spin numbers. Can hold greens from 250 out. Tons of confidence with this combo.

Not sure...I never tried it in the driver. I play the VA Raijin Black X in the driver FWIW.

Bumping this to say the XC is a fantastic shaft that is a mid/low not a low/low and it just kicked my ZF out of the bag.
