I had a really good first season with my Epic driver, dual weights, T800, then started thinking I needed exotic shafts, new heads and went through a rough patch. I switched to the PO the fall before it became so popular, and had a good year with it last season, then went off the rails this past year, several other shafts, F9 with multiple shafts, TM's new mini, several shafts, have not hit the ball so poorly off the tee since I started playing regularly again.

ย

I put the OG back in with dual weights, T800, and life is good again. My Epic will be in the bag til it breaks. I may look for another

It is very safe.

Nothing is truly safe. My Clev driver has been my favorite driver ever but I tried the M2 for several months and hit it pretty well. But never was as consistent as with the Clev SL290. It just feels more solid too. Something will kick it out of the bag eventually but it's going to have to be special.

Right now my set is getting closer to being dialed. Just picked up the G410 irons and really like them. G30 4 hybrid and a TM Gapr Hi 3 hybrid. Cleveland CBX wedges have been good to me. Pulled my odysset and swapped for a Spider, that's been a good move. 3 wood is the only thing that might not be safe. TM Rocketballz Tour Spoon 13*. Might want to go newer and 15* with adjustable head.

As a fully reformed 'ho, everything in the bag is safe until it wears out. Driver, fairway wood, hybrid are all 10+ years old. Irons are 2016, should last at least another 4 years. Wedges are up for grabs every 3 years or so. Used Scratch for years until they went belly up, did 2 generations with Titleist SM5 and SM6, didn't care for the SM7 and switched to Callaway.

ย

A really good fitting with a Trackman and a quality fitter can stop a lot of churn in the golf bag. I know some folks just like new toys, and nothing wrong with that. But if you really are looking for the best clubs for YOUR game, nothing is as valuable as a good Trackman session on a grass range. Once you get dialed in, unless your swing changes drastically for some reason, there is no reason to change clubs willy-nilly. For my swing, my clubs fit me to a T and there is no reason to change anything until it wears out.

Safe is all relative! Everything from bottom, up, works very well for me and are all mostly love at first sight clubs. I've spent a long time trying to prove them wrong, and I can't. The most endangered club might be my 5W, as the Epic Flash definitely gives me a significant jump in pushing the fairway distance a little more where I want it on the long 5s that I play more of at my normal haunts. If I really fell into a pot of gold, I'd surely be tempted to look into some Miura MC-501s or ICLs... they both look fantastic and they feel so, so good.

Callaway MB Irons and MD Wedges are safe, on to my 2nd set. Looking at MP20 SEL or Wilson MB as a future option.

Toulon putter is money.

G400 driver and hybrid are confidence clubs. ST190 3w and U65 2i are solid performers.

The challenge is to create a bag of 14 clubs that can be used for every situation in a round. Lose a wedge, or add a gap at the top of the bag??
