G410 plus vs g410 lst

Recommended Posts

I tried both, unfortunately all the fitters local to me only carry the 10.5 LST head so tried it against the Plus head in 9’

The LST felt better and spun the same as the 9’ plus (extra spin down to the loft) but as I couldn’t tell exactly how a 9’ head would perform I was persuaded into the 9’ Plus Evenflow 6.0......big mistake! Wish I’d got the 9’ LST now (the Plus was sold today as I just hit it too high and the head looked too big)

My dilemma is I don’t really have anywhere close to me that I can try them. I played mini tours about 20 years ago and was a +6 handicap, now I play maybe once a month and play to a 0 handicap. My current driver is a 915 D2 with a diamana d+ 70 and I have no problem keeping the spin down. I hate to get the plus and spin it to much, but I also worry the lst will produce knuckle balls that fall out the sky.

The plus does not spin out of control. It is good. I swing it at 122 mph and it does great! ProbBly the same spin rate and flight as my old 400lst.

If you watch the txg videos matt was hitting both with the same shaft.

the plus actually spun less the lst. Plus was around 2100 and the lst was 2400

The Black 75 6.5 felt stiffer, heavier, lower spin and launch than the Tour 65 X for me. YMMV based on speed, transition and delivery.

I hit both this past Tuesday and the Plus was spinning around 3100rpm. The LST was about 2500-2600rpm at 12.5* launch angle. Hit the Tour 65 Stiff shaft and the Even Flow 75 Stiff shaft, settling on the Even Flow. It had better dispersion and Both the fitter and I felt it was the better shaft. I’ll put it in play today at my league and am looking for good results!

I hit both while doing a fitting with PING out in PHX. The 410+ felt and performed much better than the 410LST. Spin differences were negligible but forgiveness and feel were huge. 410+ performed much better in these areas. Great, great driver.

Just out of curiosity...what makes you think you need the lowest spin and launching shaft? Do you know your numbers?(not trying to be argumentative or anything)

I’ve always played low launch low spin shafts, that’s what I’m most comfortable with. OG whiteboard, speeder 7.2 ts, and diamana d+ have all worked great for me. Tried a tour ad di and absolutely hated it.

Lst does not look as long out the back of the head. That’s the only difference I can see

I think the biggest thing for me was the look at setup. The LST sits square to open for me on all settings. The Plus looks closed untill you go to the flat setting where it sets up near square. I have the dreaded lefts so having it look open is huge for me.

I own both drivers, and got numbers on flightscope for data. When I compare good strikes, the LST is about 100rpm's lower in spin but it launched nearly identical for me. Forgiveness was the same. I couldn't tell any difference between the two.

Whatever you're comfortable with is the way to go. I was just asking because my buddy got fitted for a 410 plus. We thought he spun the ball too much but in the end he was SUPER low, like 1500rpm range.

My plus head looked square at address. I did end up lowering loft and going to a flatter setting and I have a slight fwd press at address where I open the club face even more. The plus works great for me as I still hit a slight draw that way. Forgiveness is a must for me as well.

So, the LST has the same launch? I have the 10.5 410+ with the Tensei Orange CV and it launches way too high (15-17 range). I was told the Ping Tour Stiff or X would give me the counter balanced feel I want with lower launch.

Thoughts?

Can anyone give any comparisons from what they’ve seen number wise from switching to a 10.5 to a 9? Currently game a 10.5 plus but played yesterday and launched it way too high.

I spun the 9* plus head a couple hundred RPMs more than the LST, nothing I couldn't deal with but the sound/feel of the LST is miles better IMO. With the Tour 65s it was one of the best drivers I have played in a while. I was around 2300 RPM with the 9* LST/Tour 65. I was surprised at how low spin the + could be and how high the LST was actually.
