COBRA L4V - The BOMB!!!!

ROBOPTI

Recommended Posts

One of my friends fathers is in his 50s and plays with a 4 * head, i believe it is SMT or BANG.

He hits the living daylights out of his driver. Time after time, he is constantly outdriving me by anywhere from 10-80 yards.

He hits his driver as high or higher than i hit my 10.5 and he hits it every chance he can get. Regardless of the danger, doglet left or right, he will hit driver.

Just got the TGW.com catalog. They're gonna come with the Diamana Redbaords with different balance points in the shafts depending on which speed you chose. I think that's a good sign because it means that it's a pretty low spin head, which means that when you replace that shaft with a lower spinning shaft you have a low spinning bomber!

I got my L4V today so I thought I'd share pics, the ball flies off this thing.

I'm SOOOOOO Jealous. Did you get this from a local shop or do you have a Hook Up somehow? I went to 4 different shops today including Golf Galaxy and none had any and didn't know exactly when they'd be in. I'm so anxious to get my hands on an L4VX I can't stand the waiting anymore.

Local golf club. They just happened to have a demo day 1 day after the L4V came out, and so I got priority shipping and a little time "assistance" from the rep (I ordered it during the demo day).

I need to hear more! Head looks huge but cool. The face doesn't look deep but the pics could be deceiving. Man I wish I had more patience. My local dealer isn't getting them in until sometime this week. I wound up pulling the trigger on a 8.5 Speed Pro D with a V2 75 x. I couldn't wait. Lack of patience and being a ho is NOT a good combination.

Has anyone tried the stock Diamana red board shaft made for Cobra? The normal red board has not gotten great reviews and this one apparently has the balance point shifted towards the grip. Can't order shaft upgrades yet (at least not online) and I am wondering if I should give the stock shaft a try. I currently play a D2 with a VS Proto and I am getting very good launch numbers but would like to try out a driver with a little more forgiveness (tend to have a heel miss with my D2).

Thanks :bb2:

I absolutely love this driver. I love that it goes straight BUT... I've lost maybe 10+ yards on it compared to the Cobra LD M Speed 10.5* (R flex).

I may have bought the wrong one - I went with the 10* L4V F (R flex) and with my ball speed maybe I should get the L4V M speed 10.5* (R flex). I also want more height if .5* makes a huge difference.

But put two things together, F speed and 10* I might have lost distance!

Any opinions on this?

I hit the ball around 240 yards and am now only getting 220-230.

Do you know your Swing Speed? F is listed 87-108 MPH, M is listed 76-97 MPH. Lots of overlap there, I bet you would get more with the M.

Need more reviews. Worth changing for D2 or burner.

I Have the X - It will EASILY blow those 2 out of the water :bb2:

Okay Robo, you MUST elaborate.

I have the D2 w/ V2 76 and love it.

This Cobra is really THAT much better??

Can you compare to the FT-i Tour or FT-i Tour LCG??

OK ... YES - I think it's that good - It's VERY long/hot - but JUST to be clear - It's more geared IMO to a GI Driver - but again - Mine is a TAD open ..... I think we can all honestly say most drivers are "maxed" out by proper shaft choice - The shaft is the engine of ALL drivers - and with the current breed - shaft is DEF a big factor.

As far as FT-I Tour LCG - I had an 8.5 FT-I LCG - I hit it MAYBE 5 times ... I just couldn't get over the looks - so I don't think I ever gave it a chance - i did NUKE it once or twice - and IMO it wasn't that long at all - so it was a "yawner" to me - You will need to get a better opinion than mine

I PROMISE !!!!! - I have 2 L4VXs at home - I WILL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! take some killer pics of at address etc FIRST THING IN THE AM so I have good light - its supposed to be gorgeous tmrw - I will take pics against a straight edge etc for everyone. 1 has a Whiteboard in it - 1 has a PM702 in it. and if I get motivated I will shoot a quick video of a some bombs with it

PICS as soon as light hits me !!!!!!! I PROMISE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just baught the LV4 F and it's not closed at all. The shaft is to light so I'm loading it up with an Accuflex Creation to reduce spin. It really is a sweet driver, sound is fine and its HOT!
