And that's the gist of it right there. He should be reading his green book (I hate green books) while the other guys are putting. He could walk around and look at his line from the other side - while the other guys are getting ready to putt.

To start his process and then take 2:20 to hit a putt is beyond lack of respect for his fellow players.

Whole thing is an unintended consequence of technology. Without PGA Tour Live, there’s no video of the putt. Without social media there is no “firestorm” over it, and no occasion or opportunity for Bryson to respond, for better or worse. Without this forum, any of us who witnessed the putt as spectators would be unable to find anyone else in town who cared. The PGA tour has (mostly) been finishing on Sunday before 60 minutes forever, and so long as it continues to do so, nothing of substance will happen.

Some of us — and I include myself — get frustrated with slow, discourteous golfers at home who let holes open up in front and groups stack up behind, and with timorous course management and rangers who do nothing about it, and we make the mistake of thinking that what happens on tour has something to do with that. And you do get the occasional muni group where they’re marking two-foot putts and throwing grass every other shot. But the tour players aren’t slow (with rare exceptions) because they’re drunk, or don’t want to go home, or are looking for lost/free balls. They are slow for reasons, just like their golf swings, that are completely alien to recreational players.

He was verbally abused over the last 2 days and his playing partners realized how bad it was and spoke out. As he was about to hit on 18 some clown kept yelling "youre on the clock" to him non stop. Cops removed the guy

>

> Great point. Tough guy Brooks should be saying these things in private first , face to face. Not hiding behind the media.

Everyone knows Bryson is beyond slow...if it’s common knowledge there is no reason to talk to that person because peer pressure has already proven it hasn’t been effective so Brooks sent the “Mob” after him.

Most of the tour is complicit when it comes to slow play. Most weeks they don’t have a choice given dual tee starts but this week and evey wgc event the first group should set a 4 hour pace and see what happens. I bet dollars to donuts they will be told to slow down by either the tour or from other golfers. Seems like I remember a group (maybe bill Haas and someone else) years ago played 18 in 2 1/2 hours and shot under par but got a letter from the tour about.

I wouldn't say lack of respect for fellow players....because the last person to know he's a slow player, is a slow player....I remember many years ago when my group told me that I was slow, I nearly fell to ground. I asked each and everyone of them if I was a slow player and each confirmed it. I immediate worked on remedying the problem. You know who else was deliberate and down right slow....Jack Nicklaus, he would stare down a put much longer than Dechambeau and no one said a thing.

Yeah, when Nicklaus got into his trademark crouch over a putt, everyone knew they had enough time to go put a second coat of paint on the garage or fix the faucet in the bathroom and still get back to the TV in time to see him putt.

The difference was that Jack always made it. But he was not slow tee to green.

Here’s a challenge: see if you can find video of Nicklaus taking a practice swing, except for maybe an unusual chip. Good luck, because I don’t remember him taking one.

bought out by private equity.

he was a very brisk walker. Think Rory on steroids. He was slow/deliberate around the greens and on the greens but as you said tee to green decisive and a fast walker. He would walk after shots alot.

And and people love to hate him. I am not a fan of his. But then more people pile on the more I want to be. You can gauge these situations by how the herd goes. And the herd is usually full of shat.

This kid could find his way much easier if he removed his head from deep within his bowels.

I just refuse to like anyone who uses the expression "screw all y'all haters " unironically

It's like the 55yr old guy at your work who says "working hard, or hardly working?" unironically.
