Unbelievable......but not really

Some of his stuff is original but a lot of what he does has been done.

OMG! Yeah, for him to throw shade over someone "copying" anything he has done is a sick joke. All you have to do is look at the name of his company and he becomes a little less credible as someone who has an original thought anywhere in his mind.

Not looking to bash anybody. Just can't believe he would even make the post. Right now he is selling huge amounts of trinkets and some putters. Why does he care about another small putter maker?

 

Or is it that the guys making the same quality putters are showing people that you don't have to spend huge money for a quality putter and that has him nervous?

I applaud your loyalty but Olsen is actually making putters and other stuff without the elementary school games. Yes the work is similar but Tyson's is similar to some of the stuff Dave Billings was doing, "they all copy" except some of the other small guys like David Mills, MannKrafted and a couple others, their work is 99% their own designs.

I want to first make it clear that I don't have a dog in this fight...I don't have feelings either way towards Lamb or anyone else. He makes great stuff like a lot of guys do.

 

BUT I think your second point is likely. If someone else is capable of doing the same things, then he isn't the wiz kid anymore...he isn't special. It seems like the guys that are very into Lamb stuff are almost cult-ish. And Cameron guys are absolutely the same way, there is no denying that. But if you've been told how amazing you are and nobody is as good as you...then someone else comes along and does it just as good or better? That's gotta mess with your head.

Artistic people think different than most. I’m not going to speak for Tyson not my place.

 

The similarities are too close and often to not notice. Olsen has skills don’t get me wrong. Nice guy to talk to. Just wish he would more original with his content

He is releasing putters more than before.. still not enough for people (what will be?)

Heck most putters evolved from a Ping ... but the person made it how they wanted.

 

Copy is one thing but this is beyond it.

olsen has leather on his putters, intricate engravings, timascus, etc, and the list goes on an on. tyson has the same ol song and dance; buy a number and hope you get picked - to get an off the rack with some customization. his big name, big custom sticks get pawned off to his closest guys and are rarely on the site to buy, let alone 'bid' on.

 

ppl go through olsen b/c he actually listens to the customer and puts the product in their hands at a reasonable price. lamb is doing his best at limiting the market and finding excuses or 'other projects'.

 

the trinket market is not abused -- since there's clearly a need. scotty, betti, johnston, swag, etc all sell out of their stuff immediately (ie a market that is in a drought, not saturation)

Appears that Tyson is concerned that a Youngblood is closing in on a piece of his market share.

 

If Logan is bright (which he appears to be) he will learn from Lamb’s missteps and build a broader base. The formula for success is pretty clear. All he has to do is read the numerous Lamb threads that have landed in the cooler.

 

Happy to see that he didn’t get into a social media spat with Lamb and co. Kept posting putter pictures as if it was business as usual.

So it seems the young guns are “borrowing” way too many things from the old timers. I’m sticking with the old timers. Plus I think $2500 for a putter is stupid. If that’s your style more power to you. It’s not gonna make you putt any better but at least you’ll look cool.

I’ve said it before. I respect Lamb’s ability and craftsmanship. I loathe the inability to communicate with customers and his business model (while obviously successful) is a huge turnoff for me. Take my name and down payment and I’ll wait for a true custom, I’m not playing games or lotteries to win a chance of purchasing a 95% complete putter. Hard pass.

I was referring to Tyson always being bashed for just making trinkets

 

So you jump to some conclusions.. or me running on a treadmill and typing didn’t help.

 

As most of my post i stay positive and don’t go low. The same will be here. Makes cool stuff, nice guy to talk to .. just form or improve with his own way not (copying how some presents there stuff on social media, etc )
