I didn’t watch first two days, I gave it a try today but it’s terrible

I find the $15 million obscene, but....

I find the handicap system utterly simple to understand, so that's an improvement.

The leaderboard's a very good one, and the best guys are at the top. JT, Rory, Brooks, Xander, Chez Reavie and Paul Casey - all within 3 strokes.

Some people find it boring if it's "just about the money" (newsflash, all tournaments are!) and others complain that they're trying to make it sound like a big deal to win the "season-long race for the cup".

People will complain about anything. I used to find the Green Jacket and historic Butler Cabin so saccharine it would make me sick. But then I watched for a few more years and got into it.

If you watch the golf being played right now, it's the best guys playing at the highest level. That's good enough for me.

I'm not cranky about it just think its a little Mickey Mouse. I see a clear distinction;

Handicapped Fed Ex Cup "finale" - its the best finale to the playoffs that they have come up with so far.

Handicapped Tour Championship - awful.

“Newsflash” some tournaments are not all about the money...

Four tournaments, one cup match and maybe the Olympics.

The rest are all about the money.

What is so terrible about it?

And outside of those 4+Cup, none of the rest are much watch golf. When I'm in the mood to watch golf, I'll watch any golf. I'd much rather watch any non-PGA tour event, men's or women's, vs those regular tour events.

No kidding. That was scary. I'm not sure I've ever seen a lightning strike come that close to the spectators on a golf course. There were a few people who appeared to be within just a few feet of the strike.

Yup.....I don't know why every focuses just on the money and seems to ignore that is what is bringing the 30 best players on the PGA Tour together for one final tournament.

Now they’re saying “under 10” injured, some seriously, and two ambulances on the scene. Yikes.

Yes, essentially same result either way. Just easier to see who is winning.

And if you go back to the good old days, get rid of the pros and make those tourneys for amateurs only, who's in favour of that?

They said 28 minutes between the horn and the lightening strike. If you’ve walked out more than five or six holes from the clubhouse, you’re not making it back in time. Even then, there aren’t enough buses to get everyone out of the open all at once. Golf’s lucky people don’t get killed on a regular basis.

Not sure how golf being lucky in this regard isn’t even close to true. When you make essentially zero preparations for thousands of people and have relatively few incidents, that’s lucky.

Even with the "unprepared" PGA events the chances of getting struck are [1 in 500,000 with only 35 deaths per year.](https://www.cdc.gov/disasters/lightning/index.html "https://cdc.gov/disasters/lightning/index.html"). Don't let the CDC facts override your opinions/feelings though...
