Have any of his markers refused to sign his card or attempted to add a penalty? Have any of his groups FC's mentioned anything? Come forward? I've not heard of any if the have. I'm talking about players playing WITH him in his group. They would be a primary source.

If you want to mention reputation, you might consider why you have yours, and why people are reluctant to discuss things seriously with you, or take you seriously. Just my .02

The 'Tour officials' (on-course referees) will, no doubt, be significantly closer to Langer (ie on the edge of the green) than you have been. They are therefore better positioned than you to judge his action.

Of course touching his clothing is not the same as holding his forearm against his body.If the player’s club, gripping hand or forearm merely touches his or her body or clothing during the stroke, without being held against the body, there is no breach of this Rule.

I have 664 liked comments, roughly 1 out of every 3 that I have made. A percentage far and away higher than yours. I think your nonsense talk about my reputation is quite inaccurate. The only ones who seem to have any issue with me are the small handful of posters who are too insecure to handle it when someone disagrees with their opinions.

I stopped discussing the Presidents Cup stuff a while ago, I'm not going to start it again here. But the attitude was the same, you discounted the opinions of people who are actually there in favor of the opinions of others who are watching on TV. Personally, I put a little more faith in the on-course officials, and in the people who live and play in Melbourne.

While I'm sure you're an absolutely fantastic person, here you clearly flatter yourself too much. Vindog has been posting since 2011, you only since 2017, and there was no ability to achieve a "like" for many of the earlier years that he was posting. Go back and study his posts and I'm sure you'll find hundreds you yourself would like.

We should probably move this back to the RM discussion. I quoted Royal Melbourne's consulting architect, who also happens to be one of the most highly regarded golf course architects in the world, and I posted direct quotes from crew who worked on past preparations for major tournaments at Royal Melbourne. Your implication that I just disagreed with a RM member just based on how I saw the course on television is disingenuous. Come on @davep043 , you are usually better than that.

Yeah, even I could figure that one out. I looked through a few pages and couldn't find it. Not going to look through the other 15 pages. Thanks anyway.

O,,,,,M,,,,,,G,,,,,,, "Likes" ?!?!?! LMAO

It doesn't matter. So YOU can see such minimal differences better from where YOU are than the officials right there on scene,,,,,,,,,,,, Ooooooooo Kayyyyyyy LOL

Is that more or less insecure than someone who needs to whip out their discussion board “likes” p*nis?

I honestly don’t know because I’ve never had to do that.

Every now and then I wander into a rules thread. I tell myself I won’t. I tell myself there’s not anything to be gained from it. But for some reason I can’t help myself ...

My take on a few things:

Bernhard Langer very likely Is in the top three of the most honest people I’ve ever met playing professional golf. If there’s a problem, it’s the rule itself. I promise you he is not cheating.

LICC is very entertaining. I also agree that stroke and distance can be too severe but for the simple reason that my fragile ego doesn’t like to be penalized that way. To make any argument in anyway whatsoever that its not a logical penalty means that a person fundamentally does not understand how important definitions are to the game of golf and the rules that govern it.

havjng played over 400 professional events in my life, I would say the rules are fine.... except for that one about leaving the Flag in. Oh, and that one about playing out of somebody else’s divot. Oh, and that If your ball plugs on the fringe in it’s own pitch Mark you get a free drop but if it bounces into the pitch mark of another player and is halfway buried under the ground 10 feet from the hole (on the fringe)you don’t get a drop....

Also, 14 clubs! The way I see it, I’m Bigger, fatter ,and stronger than I’ve ever been. If I can carry 37 clubs I should be allowed to!

The one rule I’d like to see implemented is that anybody who complains even one time about slow play while playing in my group is immediately given a one month suspension from the golf course. Your complaints are not going to make the group in front of us speed up, they’re not going to make you play better, they’re not going to make our relationship better. Much like the stroke and distance penalty,(double penalty?)just except it and move on!

You are failing to understand the point. I'm not saying I can see how hard he is holding his arm to his body. The fact that it is impossible for anyone to see how hard he is holding his arm to his body means that his technique is too questionable. He shouldn't be using a technique that is so questionable and so unverifiable.

Oh, good! For hundreds of posts he's a liar and a cheat but now you're not so sure. What, your TV's not big enough?

However, you still wish to impose on every TV golfer on the planet the burden of proving to the XL La-Z-Boy referee their innocence. Frankly, my dear, no one gives a rat's but you.

Knowledge of the Rules is part of the applied skill set which a player must use to play competitive golf.

There are many, many occasions when even a devoted observer can't see what a player is doing. Did his/her ball move when addressed? Did he/she truly find it in the deep trees or drop another similarly marked ball? Most often we don't know, but we trust unless there's a reason not to trust. This Langer thing is no different.
