So I finally got around to hitting this shaft in a Ping G410 plus. Wow. I've never hit a Fuji shaft that felt so good, cept for probably my old Pro 95. Their shafts always have what I describe as a metallic sort of crisp feel, even on great swings where it loads good. This one is all smooth. Feels like something from MCA instead (which their shafts have been in my driver for the past 15 years). I hit this shaft high, with what looks like little spin (based on the flatness at the peak). I thought I'd have to really work to load this shaft but my normal swing loads it fine. Fwiw my ballspeed is about 170-175 depending on contact, with a very smooth tempo. Great shaft. This setup is going into my bag. Impressive.

I’m intrigued by this....

A few questions.....

What shaft weight did you go with?

Ventus Black 6X or 7X?

Any tipping?

what shaft did you replace and how is it different than the Ventus?

I’m contemplating the same Change in my G410 plus as well.

Thx,

Rox

If you have a club champion near you, they have them as an option for fitting. Otherwise keep an eye out on eBay or bst for a used one. Otherwise $350 is the cost of admission.

hope you gents can help currently playing efsz 9* -1N with hzrdus smoke black 6.5 attack angles a couple of degrees positive but launching the ball around 14.5 on average at around 160-165 ballspeed clubhead speed is around 113 according to trackman but was very cold so probably get up past 115 in the summer if it ever arrives wanted to ask if the ventus black 60 x might be a good fit i don't want to go near the 7o gram as I'm only getting older and 78gram seems like to much hard work i find the smoke black can feel very loose when I'm swinging hard and a little out of control. any advice appreciated i previously played oban kiyoshi white 05 in og epic sz and i miss the feel of stability from that shaft it went missing from the parcel company when having the adaptor changed! so I'm thinking a premium shaft may well be the way to go to find a more stable alternative i can demo the black but its over 300 mile round trip the nearest place that has them to demo.

Has anyone found the Ventus Black spins more than expected? I just picked up a 9* Mavrik SZ, set to -1*. SS 111-113, ball speed 162-165, launch 15* but spin with a Ventus Black 6x untipped has been about 2600. This is much higher than I would have expected. By comparison with my Tensei AV Blue 65TX, albeit tipped 0.5", ball speed and launch were about the same but spin was down around 2300. Dispersion tighter with the Ventus but Tensei about 5 yards longer due to lower spin. Yes, even though tipped, thinking about the blue profile of the tensei versus the black profile of the ventus, I was somewhat surprised.

Honestly the blue profile may just fit you better. Becasue of my release and tempo I actually spin x100's more in my irons then s300's. Doesn't fit what you think would be logical bu whatever it is about my release etc I deliver the x100 to the ball with more dynamic loft which equals more spin. Go figure..

That could be. I remember testing the pro orange vs pro blue in my M2 a few years back and the pro blue spun lower too which is somewhat the opposite of what I would have expected.

Did anyone do testing between Ventus Black 6X and 7X? Just wondering what kind of differences you saw in spin, launch, carry distance, etc. I've always played a heavier driver shaft but thinking about going a little lighter in the 6X. More worried about if the swing weight drops a bit with the 6X. Going to order one of these in the SIM.

Have a black coming in the next week or so! Hopefully this will help with the lefts I've been dealing with my atmos ts 6s. Ended up going black 7x since I have a fast transition and fast tempo. Going to try my f9 at 9* vb 44in 7x

I would be interested as well. I have played 70-75g in drivers the last few years but heard the ventus black was stout and the 6x is 65 I went with that, however it's seems to be a few hundred RPMs than I would like. Maybe I should have tipped it a touch or gone 7x.

I don't recall seeing this mentioned when I last perused the thread, but my favorite shaft of all time is the Motore Speeder 7.2 Tour Spec, which I still use in my 3 wood. Would the Ventus Black become my new favorite shaft in the driver...?

Its possible, but the formula has changed a little bit. The Motore .2 and Atmos Black shafts were super similar, but the Ventus has made a few tweaks in terms of the profile. It is sort of a cross between the Atmos Black and the HZRDUS T1100. It looks like Fuji has a formula that they've used on the Motore .2, Atmos TS Black, and Evo IV which is a fairly linear loss in stiffness from the butt down to the mid followed by a rise in stiffness in the lower mid and much more gentle loss if stiffness towards the tip, basically creating a little wave in the bend profile. The Ventus Black however loses much less stiffness from butt to mid resulting in a stiffer midsection than the Motore .2, followed by a little wave pattern that is inverted e.g. loosing stiffness where the Motore gains and gaining where it loses.

Tech talk aside, you'll have to try it and see. You might love it, because bend profile is only one factor, or it might feel too different from what you love about the Motore. Only you'll be able tell!

Hey guys, we'd like to clarify some things as there still seems to be a lot of confusion and we apologize for if any of that is from our end. This is incorrect and this person is misinformed. see below. The STOCK shafts used in the new TaylorMade products is a Ventus part without VeloCore Technology (no Pitch 70 ton or 40 ton in the bias core) that we worked in conjunction with TM to optimize the performance for a wide range of golfers. Please refer to TaylorMade for specs.

note: TaylorMade is the ONLY company offering ventus without VeloCore as their stock shaft. And their custom upgrade shafts are the aftermarket versions, hence the upcharge. So if you see a ventus part at another OEM it is our aftermarket part with VeloCore and carries a $350 MSRP. the only exception is Tour Edge has a Ventus with "4T Core" which is same construction as VeloCore, but without the $$$ Pitch 70T material. 4T core is all high-mod 40 Ton in the full length bias core. All Ventus shafts sold through Mizuno are the aftermarket parts with VeloCore, period. Regardless of what photos show or what someone said. Ventus with VeloCore is a custom upgrade offering and will come with a fee.Yes, correct. OEMs have different upcharge costs, but they are all Ventus with VeloCore. Our understanding is that they do not tip shafts unless it is requested in a custom build.

please visit www.fujikura.com/dealer-locator to find a shop local to you and give them a call to see if they have some for demo or schedule a fitting. It will be worth it we promise!2600rpm is a very solid spin # and will help keep the ball in the air and find more fairways. That # should not scare you or anyone on here. We worked with a Tour pro this week (who just switched from ATMOS TS 9TX to Motore X F1 7-X) who had your exact #s and was elated to be launching it high and controlled, his carry yards went way up. Remember too low of spin get get squirrely fast. Sounds like you're hitting more fairways with Ventus which is great to hear and a good metric to base your shaft decision on. If we were working with you and you wanted less spin for a specific reason (like more rollout on your specific course) and a few more yards we'd suggest going down in loft slightly on the head (because you're at 15* now) rather than swapping out a fairway finder shaft like the Ventus.
