The New Ventus Black

I have the Black 8x in my M5 3 wood. Love it off the tee, but have had some issues hitting it from the deck. I haven't had it in very long and due to the weather here in Ohio I have only had it out a few times. I should also note that I very rarely use 3 wood other than tee shots so its most likely just my discomfort hitting that shot.

I posted earlier in this thread that I moved from the Pro White to the Ventus. Both felt great but the Ventus felt more stable at the tip. Pro White was the only shaft I really, really liked and got along great with since the old whiteboard. Ventus beat it out. Both in Blue and now I’ve moved to the Black.

I think you’d agree they feel different though. To me the White is noticeably softer in the butt, that’s the “white” profile. Ventus is stiffer in the butt and more linear to me. So if you really don’t like the feel of the Atmos I don’t think you’ll like the feel of the Ventus. May want to stay in the Mitsubishi “white” profile. Maybe the new DF if you need to change.

Stay Tuned...

Yes sorry. I should have explained further. The Tensei PO is softer in the butt and Ventus is stiffer all the way through but not boardy. I am able to swing the Ventus with a smooth swing or go after it if needed and it handles the swing without me feeling like I will lose it or have to flip to catch up. Also doesn’t feel soft or whippy at impact with either swing either. No shaft will compensate for a bad swing but if you have a good swing, the Ventus is able to feel great with both. I have a quick and hard transition and the Ventus has been great. Sorry not a tech guy on my explanations and just trying to give what I’m feeling when I swing the shaft. Just for reference mm normal smooth swing is around 108-110. If I go after it I’m around 115 and I have a long backswing.

How would the Ventus Black and Blue each compare to my older Fujikura speeder evolution tour spec 757? Been looking for an upgrade to put in the new Mavrik or SIM and the Ventus seems like it might be the one. Also wondering how it compares to the Mitsubishi Tensei Pro White if anyone could compare that. (don't care for the pro orange I had that before and hated)

Just order the Ventus Black 6x at 44.75" in a 9 degree SIM head. can't wait.

Loved the M5 w/ AD IZ 6X, but after reading these 9 pages I couldn't help myself. Visions of my old Rombax 7Z08 were dancing in my head.

now what to do for a FW....?

Mine showed up today and was able to get it out to the range for a bit. Not a good ball striking day and was hitting massive swinging draws for the first few swings. It ended up being fine, but it's a bit high and spinny compared to my Diamana ZF that I hit low knuckleballs with. I'll keep playing around with it though. Perhaps my swing weight is too low and need to throw some weight on the head?

Mine was untipped as there are claims on here that it doesn't need it. Not so sure about that. Oh well. Any ideas to salvage the shaft as I want to love it!

Coming off an evenflow white, 65 g 6.5 trimmed a half inch and tipped an inch on my M6.

Im going Mavrik SZ 9 or 10.5 this year one inch off standard length. The EF white was an easy swinger but it definitely let you know if your swing wasn’t working as hard as the first hole. Block rights or hard hooks from the stall due to lack of load.

Hit me with the truth bros. I’ll never go back to those ridiculous stock length drivers. Fowler specs are in. Any info on the tipping and comparison to EF white?

Order a SIM 3 wood with the Ventus Black in it. Have always had success with Fuji shafts so going blind with this one without testing it. Have used the Speeder Motore VC in the past, currently have an Atoms Black Tour Spec in my driver and have used a Speeder Evolution 757 in my fairway for years. I haven't found anything that's been able to knock the Speeder Evolution 757 out of bag. Excited to see if the Ventus finally beats it out.

Quite different profile than ATMOS TS actually. Ventus has a much stiffer and more stable tip section and a smoother overall bend profile. Please don't ever hesitate to message us with technical questions to ensure your information is correct straight from the source (us).

Compared to SPD TS 757 - Stiffer tip section, more stable throughout. Overall a significantly better performing shaft due to our breakthrough VeloCore Technology. You will definitely notice an improvement in dispersion and spin should be down.
