I didn’t tip either shaft. I’m now using the ZF 50 Stiff in the EF Triple Diamond and couldn’t be happier! It’s tight feeling but super smooth. The TP felt lifeless to me. It performed well enough but the feel never had me excited to hit it. The ZF is so enjoyable to hit and it looks dead sexy!

Anyone have any experience with the Oban Kiyoshi Purple and the Diamana ZF that can compare the two? Best combo I've had was a G30 LS Tec with a Kiyoshi Purple 65 04. Upgraded the head to a G400 LS Tec and the combo just never worked the same for me. Moved to a Tensei Pro Blue 60 S and launch was good and accuracy improved, but it spins too much. I'm actually looking at moving into a Mizuno st180 and want a shaft similar to the Oban Kiyoshi Purple...but a purple shaft on a blue headed driver is a bit much. Thinking the Diamana ZF might be the ticket.

BF is noticeably softer throughout the shaft. Previously, I used the BF 60 S in my driver. I had to tip it 1/2” to firm it up some. It performed well but still felt a fraction soft and spin would jump up a few hundred rpm. I’m now in ZF 50 S untipped in my driver and it is perfection! Smooth, tight feeling and explosive through the ball. The ZF and Triple Diamond are a formidable combo. The BF 60 S is now in my 3 wood. I think the BF is perfect in the fairway wood. Easy to elevate the ball, a bit more spin for control and very accurate.

I've had the ZF in my 3W for a while now and have had it in my driver for about a month and it's an incredible shaft. It's stout but not too stout. It simply feels strong in your hands and is easy to launch with a boring flight. I've hit the longest drives of my life with it and have the confidence to flight up and down as needed. Generally speaking the shaft wont let you miss left if you know what you're doing which is a great feel.

If you enjoy a shaft that feels strong for lack of a better term, then this shaft is for you. It's not boardy at all, rather it feels like a spring board.

Would be curious to know this as well. Currently gaming one in a ping g400 max and it's spinning roughly around 2800-3000 rpm with a launch of 12 and ball speed around 165. Need something to drop some spin.

Different bend profile than TPO. Will probably spin similarly all things being equal. Dropping loft will reduce spin more than a shaft change.

IIRC, PO V2 is essentially a counter balanced Pro Blue. The bend profiles will be closer; ZF is firmer throughout compared to Pro Blue however the counter balance of the V2 could be the wild card. Some love counter balanced shaft others don’t. I’m in the camp that doesn’t get along great with CB shafts.

Has anyone hit this shaft on Trackman or GC2/GCquad? I can't find any reviews with launch monitor data anywhere. I've been held up from giving mine a go on Trackman or even getting out to the course due to schedule and weather issues. I keep hoping to find some launch monitor data somewhere that can at least give me an idea of the spin this shaft might produce. I'm spinning my Tensei Pro Blue about 200rpm and launching about 2* higher than I would prefer. Hoping the ZF brings both down a little. I've been able to hit into a net in my backyard and my contact is much more consistent with it and I love the way it loads. Now if only it would quit raining...

I absolutely love the the feel of the ZF 60tx I have in my Mizuno ST190. It's the type of profile that has always worked best for me. Finally got on Trackman and was getting ideal launch from 14*-15* and spin ranging from about 2200-2400 on good strikes. The odd thing was that I couldn't get my smash above 1.45 on well struck shots. My last time on Trackman, I was seeing a smash of 1.48-1.49 using a Tensei Pro Blue. Maybe it was just the way I was swinging it. I handed it over to a friend who swings a lot slower (but admittedly is more consistent) and he was getting a smash of 1.49. Either way, I like it a lot more than the Tensei Pro Blue (which is great)...so it's definitely in the bag now. Now I'm wondering how the Ventus Blue would compare...

In my experience, all things being equal, ZF is both lower launch and more stable than BF. As it’s been described in this thread, based solely on EI profile, the ZF is more similar to DF than BF despite the ZF being built off the blueboard profile. Here’s how I would list launch based on my testing;

RF high launch with mid spin.

BF mid to mid-high launch with low to mid spin (great 3 wood shaft IMHO).

ZF solid mid launch with low spin.

DF is low to mid launch with low spin.

I’m going to throw my 2 cents in for anyone still interested in these shafts.

as a guy who hasn’t tried a lot of high end shafts the best comparison that I think is relatable is the AD DI. I always wondered what the buzz was around the AD DI because it felt like it was overly soft and all over the place for my swing, the loading was noticeable and felt lively but unmanageable. I liked the action but just couldn’t wrap my head around having no clue where the club head was especially during impact.

So the ZF has the same lIvely feel in all the same places but it doesn’t feel lost throughout the swing. I get the big load feeling without the lost sensation. I typically play tip stiff soft handle shafts like the whiteboard profiles but this shaft has opened up a whole new profile I’m really enjoying. I think Toll nailed it with the catapult description, it definitely releases the energy efficiently without being out of control or loose.

I have it in a Titleist 915f fairway head

I have played the BF in a M3 440 for almost a year now and it has been without a doubt the best combo I’ve ever hit. I do feel that it can spin up a touch more than I’d like every once in awhile but 95% of the time it’s perfect. I just had to buy a SIM max and while the BF works well with that too I feel the launch is too high. I’m thinking ZF or DF. Primary I’d like to drop a few hundred RPMs. Anyone have any experience with these in the SIM max head?

I just switched from the D+ LTD to a ZF. Very different shafts. I saw a lot of folks say the ZF was closer to the DF than BF which is why I gave it a shot and it simply isn't true. It is very much a Blueboard profile and is not nearly as stable feeling as any whiteboard profile. Definitely a lot of kick to the shaft. I don't have numbers on it but for me it is noticeably higher launch and longer on the carry but larger dispersion than the D+. I was hitting a nice baby fade with the D+ which is a little more exaggerated with the ZF. Overall it seems like I traded more fairways for 5-10 yards of length. Probably not the right call but time will tell.

Currently smoking a Ventus Blue 6x in a G400LST. Looking to upgrade to a G410LST but with the Diamana ZF 50TX. Shafts look similar in weight and bend profile. Any thoughts from those in the know?

I know it has been a couple weeks but I just sent a Ventus Blue down the road and brought in a ZF... worlds apart. FOR ME the ZF launches higher, spins a touch more, is smoother and feels alive. The Ventus requires a full go to come alive IMO. The Ventus does drive the ball well with a later apex verse the ZF which elevates and has a flatter flight. Just my two cents

So, now after more and more people have tried this shaft out I’m looking for some recommendations of shaft flex.

I know this will be hard, but with an average swing speed during my last 10 rounds on the course of 103mph, what flex and tipping would you go with? I have a smooth transition, can put the swing speed up to 108, but never do it on the course, my controlled swing is about 102-104mph.

As always I feel I’m in between flexes.

Played BF 60 stiff tipped 1” for one year, very good carry(My longest carry drives ever has been with this shaft), quite high spin, feels a little bit too lively,  not very good dispersion in total.

So for ZF, where should I go? ?

60 stiff tipped 1”

70 stiff no tipping/0.5” tipping

or even 60TX straight in

I’m in the same ballpark as you. I play my ZF 50 Stiff untipped and it is perfect. Feel wise, it has the right balance of stability and liveliness.
