Titleist 818H1/H2 vs Titleist TS2/TS3 hybrids

For me the ts2 has been a little more forgiving and a little longer (the longer is not necessarily a benefit but I suppose I prefer it).  I had the 818 is a 19 and 23 and traded them plus a very little cash for the ts2 in 19 (set to 18.25) and a 4 utility iron.  Overall I prefer the ts2, and do think there are slight performance benefits.  All that said, if I still had the 818’s the performance benefits are so small that I would not spend the money to replace them.

The 818H2 is probably the first hybrid that I've ever considered irreplaceable. Haven't tested the TS, but the looks/set-up just don't appeal to me, so that's off putting enough for me not to even consider it. The 818 is just so incredibly solid feeling and does everything I could expect from a hybrid. In fact, I would go so far to say that the entire 917 line is the best that Titleist has ever produced. Other good and bad offerings, with the 907 line by far being the worst, but just can't go wrong with the 917/918's.

So I just got a tsi2 hybrid but am thinking about making the switch to the 818 instead...the reason?  There is no ARC channel in the tsi (or ts!).  I believe that is why the ts and tsi models feel more tinny.

I've only gone down this rabbit hole because I love the feel of my tsi2 fairway wood - which coincidentally still has the ARC channel.

I can only comment on the feel/sound of the 818h2. It's super solid and muted. I really just can't imagine that the Ts or Tsi could be better performers. If feel is a concern for you, stick with the 818.

Just purchased a TSi3 18* hybrid to replace my 818H2 17* hybrid after taking a fitting & it should be with me in a few days (ebay purchase). Tested it turned down to 17* & TSi3 had around a 15 foot higher flight apex compared to 818H2 and seemed to eliminate my bad shot (the low left miss). Will be interesting to see how it goes on the course this weekend.

A little late to this topic, but hoping for some insight… I was gaming the 19* (turned down to 18) and the 21* (turned up to 22) 818 H2 hybrids and LOVE them. Cracked my 21* in the face and sent it back to Titleist, they were kind enough to replace it…. But with the TS3 in 21* same shaft… haven’t had a chance to do much testing yet with the weather… anyone see this being a problem with both remaining in the bag?

I have a 818. Not going anywhere unless it breaks or I get too old to hit it the way it's set up. It's a rocket launcher.

It's probably a combination of things that make it so good for me. Hybrids for me are like a 3 wood. I had a difficult time finding one that worked off the tee and fairway. Once found it stays.

Unless your current hybrid is a bad fit you probably won't see a huge difference.

I just caved the face in on my 818 H2 17 degree (that plays as my 3 wood- perfect balance of tee and fairway) and was forced to buy a TSI3.

Not nearly the same. I miss the H2 terribly and would get rid of this TSi3 in a heartbeat.

Curious as to why you say you were 'forced to buy a TSi3?'  A simple search can easily find a number of options on the secondary market.  Seems a bit of sour grapes rather than just taking the time to get what you wanted and should be able to flip to an 818 H2 if you put up a WTT thread...

Well, obviously wasn’t “forced” to do anything. Titliest warranty program allowed me to pay to get head only for cheaper than retail, so that’s what I did.
