Bridgestone - please bring the J15 CB back!

Have recently discovered these and found quite a cult following of fans who swear by the J15s CBs. Given both their lead tour players have them in the bag, why doesn’t Bridgestone do what every other major OEM does, and release a new J15 CB? Perhaps in a brushed, raw or black finish, in addition to the chrome?

Bridgestone is probably the most tone deaf marketing company I’ve ever come across. Somehow they seem to be succeeding at least in the ball market in spite of themselves.

J15CBs have been in my bag for 5 years and nothing can touch them. They are literally the most forgiving and softest players CB ever made. Matched with the Modus 3 125S, they are game changers.

Japan is different. Mizuno has it's own set of problems too. The lefty hate. No 'player' carries their bag to see on TV on Sundays. Yet, despite this, both make some of the best clubs on the planet. It wouldn't be too hard to game an entire set of either company's clubs.

Living in Japan I see a reason for this. Bridgestone is involved in tires, of course. But they also sell bicycles. I don't know, maybe 30% of the population of Japan has one of their 'jitenshas.' They are like Nike, in that respect. They just happen to make the ball that Nike, put their name on.

Mizuno is synonymous with sport in Japan. They 'sponsor' sport schools and clinics in ever town in Japan I've been to. By sponsor I mean you can buy their clothes, bags and sporting accessories only. Not a bad market to have for yourself. Oh, and they happen to make golf clubs.

Bought my first set of these about 8 months ago... found them on the bay for $250 and had to pull the trigger after all the hype... At the time nothing could touch my Z745s. It didn't take long but the J15 CB won me over and I sold my Z745s. I came across another set of J15 CB with less wear than my first set for $350 and jumped on those as well, so now I only own 2 sets of J15 CBs and have no interest in other irons.

I would say the i20/25 would be a good comparison, but I found my last set of i25s to play very short in comparison to the J15s. Design is similar but the leading edge on the J15s is perfect for me... Amazing irons and I would seriously consider dropping coin if they came out with a new set. My favorite irons EVER.

@Foreleft All subjective, sure. They don't look as good on the cavity as the 15's, but I actually prefer the look at address which is what matters most to my eye. A little smaller footprint. Not taking anything away from them, just think Bridgestone as a whole makes incredible gear and that the tour b's can definitely hold their own. The 15's are one of the best cavity irons ever made, no doubt.

Good point, but I believe it would be significantly more than what they are selling after investing millions in the current range. And why sponsor tour players, if you do not offer the irons that said players play, to the general public...

I would think the investment is already made, they have molds or whatever else they need to produce these again, it isn't new tech or anything.. Just produce them. They are producing other designs, why not make these again instead? Or even another simpler cavity design like iterations of the J36, 38, or 15... I liked the J40 CB design also, but Srixon really refined that in their 745... I'm sure their newer B irons are good but they are tough to look at in the cavity area. Top line and offset look fine but the rest is less than desirable.

I thought the same thing about the tour b until I saw them in person and hit them. They are an impressive iron for sure. I also wish they would expand upon some of their tour stage designs a little more as well. I'm a fan whatever comes next.

Anyone play the J33 CB that also has played the J15s? Just curious as to the feel comparison.
