New Odyssey Stroke Lab Ten putters - Sept 2019

I got a Ten slant neck (just had to given I've used a Spider for 8 years)..... it's nice. Insert feels good. Firm but not overly. Biggest takeaways are.... the footprint is nice an small. No bigger than Spider Tour and maybe close to Spider X. Most notably.....the slant neck is very different that the Spider. It' seems to go "back" more if that makes sense (creating more of an offset look. It also seems to be more in from the heel than the Spider.

 

Very minor but different. I could see myself really liking it. Gotta get it outside, of course.

To each his own. I respect your opinion I just don’t get along with anything like those grips or super stroke grips.

 

I prefer something much firmer to feel the click of the ball. Even the smaller pistol grip it’s still soft like a super stroke

I’m in the same boat with Winn and SuperStroke grips. After a brief break in period the grip feels like a greased eel in my hands. I much prefer the Red Ball/DFX grip which will be going on my Ten S when it arrives tomorrow.

If past Tour stop pics are an indication, there should be #1, #7 regular and slant neck, #7 Mini regular and slant plus other popular models.

 

#7 Mini S will be high on my list when it’s released.

Much higher MOI on the Stroke Lab 10 than on the Spyder. More weight to the perimeter due to the ABS material in the center bar of the 10.

I just wish they would bring the Fang back (not the 2-ball fang). The O-works V-Line Fang is the best shaped mallet ever made in my opinion. I would kill for a slant neck version of that shape. I tried the TM Ardmore 3 but didn't care for it. I also love the top sight line of the Fang.

You guys finding that the 10 sits open at all? My main gripe with Spider X is that it always seemed to sit open to me and I would push everything.

Been using a spider x the past year and thought about trying something different. I tried the 10 and tuttle. The 10 felt very similar to the original spider tour. I didn't quite get the roll I was expecting. The Tuttle feels a little more solid and I love the 3 lines for alignment. Both are great options.

Outside of just the look....whats the main difference between the stroke lab putters and the stroke lap exo putters. the exo are marketed to be higher MOI. The insert appears to be identical and the weighting almost exactly the same +/- 5 grams. any thoughts on why one might prefer the standard stroke lab vs the exo other than looks. i really like the look of the tuttle, but figure the extra moi couldn't hurt so leaning towards the marxman. are the moi numbers listed anywhere? curious how the 10 or bird of prey would stack up in moi compared to the exo stroke lab line.

The main difference between the two (EXO and Stroke Lab ) are the materials that they are made of. EXO made of lighter material, allows for the discretionary weight to be moved further and lower which in turns gives it a higher MOI. So although they may have similar total weights, its where the weight is located is what sets them apart. Also I believe the inserts are similar but the inserts on the stroke lab 10 and Birds of Prey have been tweaked ( to be closer to the original white hot insert.

Milled material in the Exo versus composite/plastic material in the Ten. The new Micro Hinge Star insert is firmer than the other micro hinge inserts.

The EXO was a multi material head. Steel in the outer areas and aluminum in the middle. Creates a high MOI. The 10 and BOP have extremely high MOI. The 10 creates this by having an ABS piece in the middle of the putter. The BOP does it by shape and design.
