Bumped from a different forum here based on a recommendation to do so.

Sorry to ask a question that's likely been asked a bunch of times, but wondering whether anyone has insights into GolfTown (master fitter apparently at the location near me) vs. GolfTech vs. ModernGolf? I know from reading that ModernGolf seems to be the gold standard rn, but the price-point certainly gets me hesitant (would just be irons right now I think).

Additionally, does GolfTech & ModernGolf only let you order the latest lines or can you do last year's models too?

I haven't done a fitting at Golftown since they've revamped how they do things. I know the Richmond location has some nice launch monitor equipment (GC Hawks I think?).

I'm not a fan of GolfTec personally. No matter what you are there for it always turns into a sales pitch for one of their lesson packages.

Modern Golf is a great facility, I've rented a bay there a few times just for practice. Not sure if they still only offer component pricing, but if so that's a turnoff. I would trust them to do a fitting 100%, and maybe the best place for a brand agnostic fitting that we have.

My preferred method is to go to a golf course that has a fitting center. Northview - Titleist, Morgan Creek - Callaway, UBC - Taylormade etc etc. Being able to hit on a grass range during an iron fitting is a huge perk IMO.

Northview / Morgan Creek are the closest to me. I'm a COMPLETE noob when it comes to this, but if they're fitting just the brand, it'll just be those brand recommendations? (Kind of excited to experience a Trackman at Northview).

Morgan Creek although Callaway as their preferred brand can and will fit you for any of the major brands as well. I was fitted for Titleist irons a couple years ago.
