Bachelor Party HELP Feb/March 2020

Recommended Posts

Starting to plan my bachelor party for February or early March 2020 and need some input. I live in DC but I’m from Los Angeles originally. My group is in LA, Denver, Chicago, and the East Coast. Only about a third of the group golfs so trying to find somewhere the non-golfers will still want to partake (i.e. pool or beach, decent nightlife. Casino or poker would be a plus, or trap/skeet shooting).

Here’s where I’m thinking, let me know if you have any other places or resorts you’d recommend.

1) AirBnb in Phoenix/Scottsdale. Thinking of skipping the WM Phoenix Open weekend as the house rental prices will be crazy and green fees will be way high. AirBnb or VRBO in Old Town or Paradise Valley area. Or is there any resorts we should look at?

2) Resort in Florida. Looking at Orlando/Tampa area or Sandestin. Streamsong is out as it’s too expensive and there’s no nightlife. Mission Inn Resort, Grand Cypress, ChampionsGate, or Sandestin Golf Resort are all contenders. Or is there an area I should look at to get an AirBnB?

3) Dark Horse Contenders: Austin TX, Myrtle Beach SC, Biloxi MS.

Thanks for your help!

If you go where it's warm, it will be peak season, thus higher rates, but better golf weather.

If strip clubs are important, Tampa has a lot of them, but I haven't been there lately so it may have changed.

MB still has low off season rates until about March 15th. It's not beach weather, but there are clubs and now

has Topgolf.

Austin has everything you are looking for except gambling. Lots of strip clubs, live music, etc. Weather is usually good in March. And it's Texas so you can shoot almost anything. (Seriously, you can go hunting on exotic game ranches). Check out the newly renovated Omni Barton Creek Resort.

Another good choice is Cabo. Great golf courses and perfect weather in Feb / Mar.

I prefer Scottsdale as it is more of a total package. Good golf, decent food, some nightlife, and a casino.

There's no real nightlife in Orlando but the golf is great. That is pretty much all you will be doing in Orlando.

Myrtle is a good choice as well but it may still be pretty chilly.

We did Phoenix/Scottsdale for a buddy of mine's bachelor party and it was a ton of fun. Rented an AirBnB with a pool. Played golf during the day then went out to old town every night then finished each night off at the strip club. Went to the casino a few nights and got lucky enough to subsidize the golf gambling, bar tabs and lap dances with the winnings. The golf was great as well.

We did Pinehurst for my bachelor party, but everyone in my group was a golfer so it worked out really well playing 36 a day and not really doing a lot of partying.

We agreed on something... this is kind of a special moment.

Not really interested in doing the clubs, and trap/skeet/sporting clays is more my shooting. Hilton Head also looks pretty decent in terms of house rentals and green fees for late Feb early March.

Make sure you check the weather forecast for that time of year. Have you considered Nashville?

This past April I planned a similar trip. We flew into Vegas and drove up to Mesquite, NV which became our home base. We stayed 2 nights there and played golf at The Palms (AZ), Conestoga, and Wolf Creek in Mesquite, and Sand Hollow in St. George Utah. After those two nights we headed to Vegas for one solid night out on the town. It was Awesome. Wolf Creek is worth the trip alone. Next time I make that trip i will do a replay at Wolf Creek.

if you are going to orlando, we did grand cypress last year and it was way better than expected. we stayed on campus in condos and walked to golf. golf was fun, weather was great. we ubered and ate great meals every night. not an amazing nightlife, but a lot of fun. definltey not vegas or scottsdale. those would definitely be first on the list. mission hills has one great golf course, but its far from orlando if you are looking to go out. hope you have a great trip.
