Most PGA and European Tour courses are average. Very few great courses host tournaments as the members don't want the damage.

Feherty is a parody who employs multiple script writers.

PXG really is overpriced.

Iron covers are effete.

DCB is not a genius. Other people have passed harder courses than him.

Courses designed for carts are on the wrong piece of land.

US visitors can rock up at every UK tournament venue (bar Wentworth). Try doing that at some US courses.

Could not agree more with #3. I would love to see a chart of what people pay vs positive experience. I've never had more than $200 worth of fun on a course, but I understand the dollar amount is relative.

It’s a great idea for private golf clubs to charge non residents waaaaaay less than the people who live close to said club and would be supportive and helpful members. And no need to audit those who say they live “outside” of the resident zone and get to enjoy the out of whatever rate...I’m sure everyone is telling the truth.

We don't really have tee times at my club. FTR, I've never actually used the line. I've shared it with a number of buddies at the course. They found it funny, and one actually claims to have used it. I think he was pulling my leg though.

I can't stand watching golf on TV, and I don't care about the PGA or any of its tournaments or players. "I didn't see that amazing shot from that unfortunate spot in that crucial situation, I don't know who won, and honestly, I don't even know who these people are. Can we talk about something else now?"

Quite honestly, I would much rather play golf than watch golf. Oh... and stop telling me about their golf swings and how I should mimic one of them.

1.) Carts suck for the most part

2.) Hybrids mostly suck, high lofted fairways are better

3.) Bump and running a 7/8 iron around the greens is the hardest shot in golf in most situations

4.) Working the ball is overrated

5.) Chasing +AOA and low spin with the driver is overrated

6.) Firm greens should be the norm

7.) Flexibility is overrated for golf, get stronger instead

#0. I enjoy watching adults melt down on the golf course, I laugh and feel happy at their pain and anger. Their suffering sustains me.

#1. Rangefinders and GPS should be outlawed from the game, as figuring out yardage was part of the game (I was awesome at it).

#2. The USGA sucks and is the little brother to the nasty NCAA in how they screw everything up.

#3. Women pro athletes shouldn’t be paid the same as men unless they can generate the same amount of revenue (sponsorships, tv revenue, ratings... etc) as the men.

#4. Title IX is a joke

My buddy and I joke about putts shouldn't count for a full stroke since they are closer to the hole than lets say a 7 iron. It should be like 1/4 stroke per putt. Like a said it's a joke, but deep down I mean it.

I think Bandon Dunes isn't a perfect place for a golf trip because I prefer to ride in a cart if I'm gonna play 36 holes in a day.

 

I hesitate to relish a Scotland trip because playing in 35 mph winds with rain isn't great for a golf trip either.

 

Hitting a clean shot ball-first from a bunker is easier than hitting it consistently fat.
