What did you hear? How about a 770 replacement?

Thinking about this logically, there's no reason to expect an updated P730. It was four years between the Tour Preferred MB and the P730, and at the time of the P730 release TM said they only update blades when there is a good reason to do so. Since the P series is still around, there's no reason to expect an updated P730. Plus, they released the P7TW last year. That's a second set of blades in two years. No chance we see more any time soon.

P770 - Replaced after two seasons by the P760. No reason to expect anything.

P750 - Replaced in the retail market by the P760, although you can still buy the P750 on their site. The big caveat here is that many big name staff pros still have the P750 in the bag, leading people to speculate on a replacement. My hunch is that we'll see an update to this category (a true players CB) sometime in later 2020. Gives them another year to get input from guys like Wolff and Rahm on what their preferences are.

I'd love to be wrong about the P750, to be honest. I'd love it if it just remained in the lineup permanently.

Very very logical speculations here. I spoke with our TM rep and he suggested the less-is-more approach in terms of irons and wood models. I completely agree that things seem to be going 30-60-90 as opposed to 30-50-70.

That being said, it does seem that they need something in between the 730/TW and 760.

I suppose we will see!

Or just make it possible to custom order single TWs. That would be awesome!

I don't have any info but I'd assume maybe a refresh on the P760 plus new M irons, similar to current M5 and M6 (M7, M8?). The update to the 790 is already here and the market for 730's is so small I don't see a reason to update those.

Feel like they should just go back to P750 and P770 and upgrade these. P750 has to dominate on tour from everyone I see playing them still. Only player I can think of with 760s is Jason Day and it's custom for him. Think they kind of flopped with P760s since it doesn't seem like many people bought them. It's a great iron and I almost bought them but just seems like people that fit into that iron gravitate toward other brands. They'd be better off renewing P750s for their tour pros/scratch players and P770s since they would sell more of these. Otherwise they'll need to do something else to get more people to buy into the P760s.

If they added the 750s back to the custom list I’d buy a set tomorrow. I wish I would’ve gotten a set last year before they released the 760s

Players iron bigger than the 730 and smaller than 760 and new drivers and fairways is all I know that is releasing at the PGA show.

You haven’t been able to order the 750 custom for over a year. The 730s just fell off the custom order list. Definitely means that there’s a new MB coming, which I find strange cause of the P7TWs

I feel like TM needs a reset on it's irons. The 770's and 750's were nice, but when you added in the 730's and 790's, I'm not sure both were needed. I feel like the 760's were a flop for them. I'm envisioning their blade series, then a new CB series, and then the 790's. Not sure they need to "muddy the waters" by having a fourth set of players' irons in there. That's just me, though.

The 790 is a beast, get a new 730 or whatever size blade and then a real cb in the middle at 760 to replace the 750/770. Still gaming that combo and for good reason, they just straight up deliver. Lets not keep anything from the 760 they released. Not sure what they wanted to accomplish with it but it’s a big flop

The 760 was a step backwards from the 750s/770s. They have been a relative non factor in the equipment sales race.

That's the thing. Because the P7TW exist, the 730 falling off the custom list doesn't necessarily mean there's a new MB coming. It seems plausible to me, perhaps likely, that the P7TW remains as the only MB in the lineup. There's certainly no reason for them to have two.

I agree with you, but seems like a high price point for the only blade offering.
