Best Players Irons '19

The Srixons are great. Massively underrated company overall, but 919T all the way. For looks it’s not even close to me.

MP20s show just how much intellectual honesty and engineering prowess there is within Mizuno as a company. Can’t see anyone else going to the expense of adding a copper layer, forging the face and neck like the HMB, or working out how to incorporate multiple metals during the forging process like the MMC.

Mizuno is slightly overrated, the main thing they have going for them is the feel. I like a slightly longer blade but they have started to get a little too chunky in their irons profiles especially the non blade irons.

I cannot explain how good the srixion z785 are. They feel amazing and look even better. You can’t beat the playability of them or the feel. Next part is the price! The value is amazing for in my opinion one of the best irons on the market. With them being 1000 for 4-p and the custom option are a cant beat. Z785 all the way

Was fit into the Z 785's this afternoon, very much looking forward to it! They were perfectly forgiving and long for me. I think my launch is going to be slightly higher with the based upon going from the 900 Tours to them, but I think I can offset it with a change to a lower launching golf ball.

My 919 HMP will be here tomorrow. Little less offset than the tour actually. Clean but still confidence inspiring when I look down at them. That and no upcharge for Recoils with Align mmc +4 make them one of the best deals out there.

The 360 cup face is a little hot and clicky for my liking.

I hear you on the Apex/760's.... the whole putting foams and whatever material inside a player's head is an odd choice if you ask me. You probably won't be finding the tour issue dot heads in your pro shop either. I can't speak to T100 though really, I've yet to hit them. I really really liked Z785's and was fit for them last year but I ended up getting 770's because I found a deal I couldn't pass up on eBay.

agreed...it's the JPX919s hands down

I have no access to any srixon demo clubs . Not within hundreds of miles and im bout ready to buy blind. But im worried about the sole. Its the only thing that is concerning to me.

Is the VT sole a real thing ? just be honest about it. Is it actually helping, or is it just in your head ? im worried about the sole when im playing in drier courses esp in the summer. Any feedback is better than no feedback so shoot away...

I've never gamed the clubs in real grass but I'd say the sole is legit for helping you get through the turf better. Most of the player's clubs from Titleist (T100, CB, MB) have a similar kind of edge relief). 760's also have a similar thing going on, etc.

It's very subtle. I play in wet and dry conditions in Washington state and have only had positive feelings about the turf interaction playing in both conditions.

I definitely think the V-Sole works. Seems to resist digging and allows you to keep club head speed up through the strike. I tend o get steep and definitely feel like it helped in that regard.

After buying a set of Srixon 945, shafting them, hitting them on monitor and outdoors and also doing a fitting with the 785 head, I can confidently say that Srixon irons are not for me. I feel like the would really suit the player who tends to fade the ball and fights spin. Back to back with Miura CB 57 and my 716 CB the 785 wanted to go left on me even with the lie -2 and the spin/ peak height were lower. I just don't get along with them. I could throw a blanket over my shots with the CB 57 - the overdraws I was getting with the Srixon were painful.

And you think it was the Srixon head? That is interesting because I have noticed that I overdraw mine as well but figured that was me because I can hit them straight and fade them on command, as well. I will have to pay more attention to see if I can determine if the heads are draw biased, or not. I do know for certain that my miss is a big draw to hook with the 785's.

I'm really liking the V-sole.

We have relatively soft fairways and off of those and out of light rough they are like a hot knife through butter.

I play a fade and have not had any issues with the ball going left at all.

Both sweep or steep, these have worked very ,very well.....had iblades before with too much bounce (also pxg) don't get along with sharp leading edges......also have rtx4.....I was skeptical about the v-sole but I wholeheartedly believe in it!

So has anyone playing the 785’s messed with the lofts since they are a little stronger or just played as is?
