Ballstriker boys.. Sounds pretty metallic, closest look we have had at an address image so far? To me it looks like the Optifit hosel is smaller, just like it got smaller in the EF Fairways..

Anybody recognize what Graphite Design shaft that is?

Callaway makes some outstanding Drivers but never seem to work for me.  I'll give this one a try as they have some great tech and see playing partners hit bombs with the last few years iterations.  Good thread.  Looking forward to seeing it at address if it sits closed its a no go for me... Will stand by.

It’s the same hosel adapter as EF, Rogue and so on. The shaft is a GD shaft made for Callaway as a stock offering.

Most drivers in Japan that I've seen generally come stock with some kind of real deal Graphite Design or Mitsubishi Diamana. I doubt we will get that in the USA.

Got a peak at my club pro's new Mavrik yesterday, and in the neutral setting it did not look at all closed to me.

Maybe it was the draw version of the Mavrik. I could see that model having a hint of a closed face angle

With the Epic Flash they had AI configurating 15000 types of faces and they told it was 35 years ahead in time.

It's a real shame how cheesy bad marketing sometimes undervalues a great product..

Like the M5 last year, they went all in on "INJECTED SPPEEEEDD! The fastest face it can ever be" and then every test showed the M5 was usually lacking in ballspeed compared to the competition.. But otherwise a great product and the ballspeed differences where insignificant, but all that stick with me was how the Injected Twistface charade was a failure.

What comes to the new SS20 face in Mavrik, I think it's good that they updated the design to be more durable but what was funny is how did they originally get it wrong in the EF with all that computing?! :D

I wonder if it's similar to the Rogue Sub Zero V. Which is a little smaller looking at address w a little deeper face. Hope so. I've seen a pic of a triple diamond. Definitely lots of versions of this driver.

I think the performance and ball speed off this driver will top everything this year. I was not sold on the color, but the performance is amazing.

These Mavrik products look sharp. Looking forward to address position pics. I much prefer the orange to the green of the EF line. Anyway, all the product is so good these days. What a great time to be a golfer. Loving the new gear!

What im confused by is how they dont understand by telling us... this is the fastest we could possibly get. We are right at the limits aloud and we cannot do much more. Yet very next club or driver. Were told again this new driver is much faster and seeing distance gains and higher ball speeds. How? I thought last driver it was at the limit. So are you now over the limit? Lol so contradicting and a bad look. Stop releasing clubs ever year or stop telling us these huge storys on how this club is loads better but yet cant go anymore becuase were at the limit. What do these companys do in 5-10 years from now?

Oh aliens took over the controls they are now injecting alien smart plasma into the clubs but dont forget were a decimal off the limit so we cant go anymore : )

Are you buying a new $500+ driver if they say, "it's pretty good, just as good as last year's (now discounted) driver"? Doubt it. It's marketing spin, smoke and mirrors addressing different aspects perceived to improve a club. Twist face, speed injected, etc. it's all made up jargon just to give them an angle of something new to promote.

Not everyone buys a new club every year so they count on both those who do and those who have older gear finally upgrading.

also just because a face is designed to be at max ct doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways to gain speed thru use of lighter materials, aerodynamic design or some other factor.

its up to the golfer to determine if new is better or not and if it’s worth upgrading.

lastly why is it only with golf gear that people complain about new models. No one complains that a new tv comes out all the time or new cars despite them not proving anything beneficial over the previous model year

The AI changes the face geometry and with the Mav they were having breakage issues. So they had to change the material to offset that. Breakage can be associated with an extremely hot face.
