Agree with you as we have been told they are at the limit each new version of every club but most are within a few yards of each other.

however this new one seems to have something. I don’t believe Xander was hitting it farther than JT and I thought he had slower ball speeds. He was consistently hitting it past him (carry distance as some shots with the funky slopes and roll JT got it past him) and ball speeds were faster all day long.

I have, and I do. They are both really good. I need to get more time with them side by side and a apples to apples test (same shaft, same ball, same day etc). Cosmetically, I am much more drawn to the SIM. I like the lighter grey top and the blue, not the biggest fan of the Callaway orange. I also, like the adjustability of the sim, but initial numbers favored the mavrik, I was shocked at the ball speed and the callaway hosel is the best in the biz. They were not tested on the same day, or with the same shaft so there are always those variables.

Have seen the SIM testing now and it does not impress in any of the videos, and those also have really shallow faces. If Mavrik keeps the price down and has a good shaft selection it should dominate the Taylormades.

Anyone know what the stock shafts are for the Mavrik? TM has the ventus which is awesome.

I can only imagine Cally will have the Evenflow Riptide just as TM does, as well as the standard HZRDUS offerings and lighter weight Helium type shafts.

Evenflow riptide is one. Haz smoke series will be another. That is all I know for sure. And yes, the Ventus in the TM clubs is a far cry from the aftermarket shaft. It lacks the full length Velocore. It is basically a completely different shaft. Which is sad, but I am sure the real deal will be an upgrade option for $300.

Thanks. I was kinda hoping that ventus was the real deal shaft. O well, the address of the Callaway is perfect for me. My last question is if the standard Mavrik is matte black like a couple people have said it is or is it gloss like the SZ?
